This guild is to show the portion of the population of Gaia that believes we're uneducated islanders,
__________that we're normal (or maybe not so normal, in some cases) people just like they are . . .

This guild is for people who are tired of the Hawaiian stereotypes,
people who want to have a place to talk with other people in the same boat . . .__________

This guild is so we can make local friends and talk about things that are a part of our local culture,
__________which people from other parts of the world might not understand . . .

This guild is for others to learn about us and our culture,
and for people, whether they're from our islands or not, to become friends and understand each other better . . .
__________

That is the kind of guild this is. If you've been looking for a place like this, then we say to you...

- - - - Aloha and Welcome to the Hawaiian Gaians Guild! - - - -

What are we all about?

  • Meet other people who are Hawaiian/live in Hawaii/have lived in Hawaii.
  • Learn about the Hawaiian culture, language, history, etc...
  • Talk to people who won't make stupid comments about your eEnglish or ask if you live in a grass shack. (I know, HUGE relief, right?)
  • Help the people who say the above comments learn to know better.
  • Make some friends and have some fun!

- - - Our Rules - - -

  • Follow the Terms of Service for Gaia (obviously!) Many of our rules already fall under the terms of service anyway.
  • No racist comments of any kind. It's Hawaiian Pride, not Hawaiian Superiority.
  • Don't be a jerk, snob, troll, moron, or pretty much anything that would get you beat up in real life.
  • Do not to pretend to be from Hawaii just to get in (We'll let you in even if you're not, so no need to lie!)
  • Try to be semi-literate. Believe it or not, but not everyone can read (or likes to read) T3xT t41k. s0 d0nT T41k l1k d1s 0k?!!1
  • To expand on the above rule don't type "brah", "like", "da kine", "shoots", etc. every other word; you CAN use these words, just don't write something that is unreadable because you've used them so much.
  • Please listen to the crew and moderators. We want to make sure everyone has a good experience here, so let's try to get along, okay?

- - - How to Join - - -
Please tell us:
What your name/nickname/alias/moniker is.
The reason you would like to join this guild.

That's it. Simple and easy, right?

Below is a map of the Hawaiian Islands. Going down the chain from left to right, we have Ni'hau, Kauai, Oahu, Moloka'i, Lana'i, Maui, Kaho'olawe, and Hawai'i (also known as the Big Island). Oahu has the capital city of Honolulu on it's south coast and it the most populated and "city-like" of all the islands.

Random Hawaiian Info of the Month!:
User ImageHistory Lesson: Did you know that the main, most widely accepted theory of when Hawaiians started to populate the islands is around 300 to 600 A.D.? Evidence for this theory are the deposits of burnt wood found around the islands that carbon-date back to around that time, since burnt wood = fire pits for cooking! There are also two other theoretical time periods: 0 to 300 A.D. and 700 A.D.!

Random Stupid Questions/Comments Of The Month
Note: Do not ever say/ask the following to anyone from Hawaii. You will either offend them or force them to laugh at you.
Stupid Comment: So if you live in Hawaii, that means you must use a palm tree for your Christmas tree, right?
Sarcastic Answer: Sure, because here airplanes and shipping companies don't exist, so it's not like using modern forms of transportation we can simply BRING the trees here! >_>
