Welcome to my guild, and let me be the first to say you're among friends. Here dwell otherkin, and being who we are is what we're all about. "Kin" of any sort, can be best described as "a person or people who believe that at some stage in their life or lives they are/were another creature of some sort and that some of that life still lingers within them." For example DragonKin believe they are or were Dragons, ElfKin are/were Elves, DemonKin are/were Demons, etc etc.

Kin can sometimes be refered to as a 'Spiritual Form'. To me, who adopted this attitude for a long time, This means that if I felt I was anything else in the world than Human, I would be Dragon, for that is what I feel I am. There are Kin out there that don't know they are Kin, but yet they feel a strong assosiation with a different type of creature be it 'mythical' or real. Kin can come in any type or shape or form; ranging from a vague bond with that creature, to the more extreme feeling of actually sensing things from their Kin's point of view.

HOWEVER, after having said all that, please don't think that just because you have a different thought pattern you MUST be Kin. The human mind is a vast and unknowable thing and each person is different in their thoughts and feelings to begin with. Most people feel an assosiation with one type of animal or another, and physically we come in all different shapes and size. So if you have enlongated fang teeth doesn't automatically make you a VampireKin, and just because you enjoy prancing around the back yard doesn't make you HorseKin.

Being Kin is something that doesn't come automatically and isn't necessarily a good thing. We have our problems like everyone else, and if you feel that after reading this you are beginning to understand yourself better, then talk to others and learn what you can about Kin and yourself before declaring you are a particular Kin or not. All of us are willing to help you discover yourself as much as we can, and if it turns out you aren't Kin then who cares.... You will have made some good friends and opened up your mind to a new thing. That can't be bad.
