Before, there was a great expanse of land divided up equally between four clans: BriarClan lived amongst the Briar plants of their own territory; CinderClan lived amongst the trees in the harsh heat; LakeClan settled by the lakeside; HollowClan made their home amongst a dead forest. For most of the Clans' lives, there was little conflict between them, and war never broke out, making it the "ideal" life of sorts. But of course, peace would never last; a drought passed over the area, drying out the rivers and LakeClan's lake. Fish became scarce, and other animals fled the area in search of water and food. Tensions were high thanks to this, and the Clans constantly fought over resources, until finally it led to a full-on war.
HollowClan and CinderClan were the main aggressors, affected the most by the drought, but all Clans fought, leading to much death and bloodshed. StarClan saw no end to the fight and knew that if it continued, the Clans would destroy themselves, and so caused it to rain over the land. At first, the Clans saw it as a blessing, but the war continued as food was still scarce. The rain poured... but eventually, the Clans' relief turned to worry, realizing that the rain wasn't letting up, and suddenly the water began pounding down harder. One day, it quickly washed over the land and flash flooded, Clans scrambling to higher points to avoid drowning. Many drowned, along with the Leaders of each Clan, helping others before themselves and getting caught up in the floods, and all of HollowClan was washed away.
Finally the rain stopped, but the land was still covered in water. BriarClan, CinderClan, and LakeClan, their Deputies acting as Leader, traveled far from the territories they used to call "home" and made their way to a new place. The three remaining Clans settled and were renamed after the previous Leaders who sacrificed themselves to ensure everyone else's survival, now trying their hardest to make amends for all the conflict they caused in the past, attempting to live peacefully amongst themselves.
StarClan has not been heard from since the resettling, and the Clans have done well on their own without their guidance, but some still worry that this may be a bad sign.
