Long ago in a distant land there lived a demon with a thirst for destruction, chaos, and hurt. He taught man to kill, to slaughter, to murder. He taught man how to lose reason, to lose rationality. Then, to defend himself, he took all of the spirits of the dead and attempted to hide them in the pitch black of the night sky. The souls caught, and as they caught they began to glow. They glowed with a haunting loneliness back down upon the demon, upon the people who had lost their humanity.

The demon was unable to hide, for from then on the sun followed him in the day and the stars shone down upon him at night and the humans turned against him and struck him down in their anger. That was when they lost the last of their humanity.

And then he became the moon.

(Many hundreds/thousands of years later)
The sun watched as the stars on the other side of the world began to burn out and perish, lonely in the sky. He himself knew loneliness, being the only thing in the sky during the day, and felt pity towards their lonesome lives. He took one of the spirits from the darkness and dropped it to the earth, and as it fell it hardened and shaped into a strange shaped jewel. It hit the streets of Gaia with a clatter, and then rolled to the gutter, forgotten.

Along came a strange figure, one known to most as 'Freize', and whilst walking something caught his eye. He looked to the gutter now, and took notice of the jewel. He took it into his hand and felt it pulse dully, surprise filling his face.

He took it home, as his heart told him to.

He'd kept it for perhaps a week, perhaps two, and then decided it must have just been his imagination. This stone didn't seem to be special at all. He went to go get it and sell it for profit, but instead of a jewel he found a small and strange toddler staring up at him.

The spirit of the murdered one had been reborn.

And that's when stars began to fall.
