"If they don't learn to cooperate, then they will all suffer by the hands of Evil incarnate..."
- Verse from the Wall of Prophecy

Elyris was once a thriving nation governed by the Court of Mystics, the Kings, Queens and Lords of the five cities throughout the land. Back then, the five cities were Durandals; Oddrune; Allden; Rienne; and Callower. One day long ago, a citizen of Allden came across the Prophecy of Harmony; a sign of destruction, a war that would cost the lives of countless people, and the final outcome of life or death. News of this prophecy has lead to a dispute among the Court of Mystics, leading to the fall of Allden, the destruction of Callower, and the downfall of Oddrune from bustling city to humble village.

Some time has passed since these incidents, and the people of Elyris are still at war with each other. If everyone cannot learn to coexist then Elyris will see it's end.

Roleplay Features

Community-Based System
(Currently not implemented, still keeping track of RP gold earned.)
Your character(s) may choose to be a citizen of one of the five major cities or become a traveler. Whichever you decide to be, your actions around the land of Elyris will affect the economy and community of the five cities and their neighboring towns, villages and wilderness. This feature is 100% dependent on a city's citizens and travelling merchants importing and exporting goods. There is an economy within this guild and you may have the power to dramatically change it depending on how you play out your character.

Professions, Jobs and Missions
(Rank system not implemented.)
This may be great for those that find trouble initiating roleplay or getting into a roleplay already in progress. When creating a character, you have the option to choose a profession (the list of available jobs in each city will be listed within the forums) that you can use as a guideline to help roleplay. This feature can tie in very well with the community-based system, for example: Durandals doesn't have farms around or within the city, so wheat is not readily available. If they import a shipment of wheat then a baker can turn that wheat into bread, allowing the sale of bread to be available in Durandals. Professions are shown as skill ranks and can be seen on character profiles (the ranks are, from highest to lowest, S; A; B; C; D). In addition to professions, you can take on temporary jobs within the cities, whenever they become available. These work in the same way as professions but mostly just used whenever a city needs a certain resource. The difference between the two rank-wise is that a character with a profession can reach S rank in that profession only, and can reach C rank in every other profession, while a character without a profession can reach B rank and eventually will be given the option to recieve training in any two professions that are B rank, turning them into A rank. While a profession offers steady income (so long as you log in to collect it), a job offers multiple opportunities to earn more money depending on your activity. Missions are postings from private contractors that can be found in most taverns among Elyris. These detail certain jobs or bounties that pay more than jobs or professions can in most cases but are considerably more difficult and can end in serious injury or death.

Guilds and Companions
While this may not be a huge part in this guild's early stage, your character may develop friendships and relationships with other characters. Sometimes their bond is so strong that this can confer benefits to each other in combat (further detail of combat is listed in the next feature down), the benefit of someone to roleplay with regularly doesn't hurt either. Guilds are a community of adventurers or citizens that share a common goal and work together to achieve it. A blacksmithing guild may want to work to becoming the most successful arms dealers in Elyris, or the guild may have been formed to supply their city's army with weapons and armour. Adventuring guilds are more for socialites, sharing the common goals of exploring Elyris and taking up jobs and missions wherever the opportunity arises.

The Combat System and Equipment
(Combat system not implemented.)
This is purely an experiment and is subject to change if needed. Combat is eventual in this RP and to help reduce god-modding, a D&D style combat system is used. Equipment is bought using money your character earned and provides various traits towards how your character fights other characters or monsters. Monsters, armour and even clothes have an AC (armour class) rating, and whenever you make an attempt to attack someone or something, you should include a roll of 1d20 (one 20-sided die). If your outcome is equal to or greater than your opponent's AC, then the attack hits. For now, there won't be a health system or set amount of successful attacks a character or monster can take, but with each hit your opponent should start getting weaker in battle (the average amount of successful hits someone could take should be around 3-4, give or take a few depending on how tough the character or monster is).

Death is Inevitable
In most cases, death cannot be avoided in this roleplay. Unless your enemy aims to kill you, three or four hits will seriously injure your character. Any more may end up in your character's death. If this happens, you are free to play as your character's son or daughter (if your previous was old enough to have one and did) or become a new character entirely. Since reincarnation is possible in this roleplay, upon admin approval you may choose to recreate your character under a different name. If you do reincarnate, your profession ranks remain and your character will have the same features as your old (people that knew your old character will be able to remember your face when they see you, but you will not have any memory of your old life. Other characters can attempt to help you remember but you won't be able to remember everything). If you choose to become your old character's offspring, you may choose to inherit either your father's/mother's gold or a piece of armour or weapon (if they died in battle and someone that was with them returns their belongings to his/her family). If your character's father or mother was a respected warrior or was a master of their profession, you will gain a boost to your reputation if you choose to follow in their path. Making a completely new character confers no benefits, but it gives you the opportunity to start anew if you ever feel the urge to try something different.

I plan to add more storylines to this roleplay in the future, join now and help our community grow!
PS: I do require members be at least somewhat literate (proper grammar, punctuation and spelling) so when you apply please type either a message explaining why you should be accepted and how the guild can benefit from you joining, or a piece of your roleplay expertise. Thank you!!
