It's been many years since the age of the ninja wars, which threatened to engulf the entire world, although there have been several isolated conflicts the major ninja nations have been at peace. The nations surrounding the ninja villages in the absence of major conflict have slowly developed their technology, personal infrastructure, and have greatly excelled in autonomy. These nations have with their new found power have begun taking care of roles that were traditionally reserved for the ninja. As a consequence ninja villages throughout the world are suffering in famine, and grand depression. Many impoverished ninja have began to reminisce on the days of old when their villages were once prosperous. Some would say, "Ahh, back then those villages would beg us for help, we were fed like kings, we were feared, and we were happy." Although there is some debate even among the intellectual community of the ninja on when exactly the Great Age ended, there seems to be a consensus by and large that the two villages that are responsible for the end of the wars, the villages of Sunagakure and Konoha, are to blame. Battle lines are being drawn, as representaties fron Sunagakure and Konoha have been expelled from the ninja conference. With an inability to adapt to societal standards, the ninja community vows that it will reclaim its power through fear and intimidation. Can the free nations of the world stand up to this developing threat? Can the Sand and Leaf villages hope to succeed against their former allies? Only time will tell in this next thrilling chapter of Naruto Aftermath.
