The Order of Chaos

In its two years of creation, ToC has seen its ups, downs and various name changes. Its been a rather chaotic couple of years, with some of the key members going away for college, getting jobs... you know, doing the whole 'growing up' and 'getting a life thing'. (Hey, I'm guilty of that myself... eep!) I will be the first to admit that it is hard to balance several aspects of one's life, however it can be accomplished.

Hence, the reason why this guild is back in action (Take that Reik!) and here to stay-- permanently open. In order to make this work, there will be a lot of changes, and all for the better. Some things will stay the same, like our heart-felt desire to raise the bar when it comes to the quality of RP in the Gaian comunity. Besides having fun, this is our first and foremost concern increasing the quality of literate Role Play for the people.

A good roleplayer, does more than just freak out about proper punctuation, correct spelling and amount of content. He understands the basic priciples of writing easy to read sentences, and passion. The passionate writer can develop and hone his skills to the point of becoming a published poet or novelist. Tenessee Williams and Edgar Fitzerald have proven that even the most basic of sentences can combine beautifully into an interesting plot that will draw the reader in.

Simplicity has worked time and time again through out the years. Even Charles Dicken's works -- an author viewed by many as one of the most complex writers in English literature; a modern Shakespeare by his times had simple plots. The diversity and depthness of his work is a whole other issue.

The point is that the 'good roleplayer' is not categorized on how proper the language he uses is or how many paragraphs he writes. A good roleplayer is a person who is not only creative but passionate about his work and ideas to the point where others are drawn to what he does.

ToC is the perfect venue to explore the passion within to those willing to learn.

Think you can't keep up? Come on, give us a try, I'm sure we'll change your mind!
