Seven years have passed since the defeat of Xemnas, and the fall of Organization XIII. The Lengendary Keyblade Masters, Sora and Riku had lived peaceful lives on the Destiny Islands for those seven years, undisturbed by the threat of darkness. But like all good things, the peace eventually came to an end.

The islands targeted by Heartless, which emerged from darkness and took the world in a surprise attack. From the thousands present, one Heartless, now known as Darklord Armor, laid siege to the Destiny Islands. Sora, Riku and Kairi were forced to flee, and the Heartless left the islands in pursuit.

After days of evading the Heartless, the three Keyblade wielders were cornered, and finally had to fight. The lesser Heartless were slain with ease, but even with their combined power, Sora, Riku and Kairi were no match for Darklord Armor, and were defeated easily. Having narrowly escaed death, they fled.

They parted ways shortly after, as the combined strength of their hearts was a clear pinpoint for the Heartless. Their mission is to become stronger, to defeat Darklord Armor. Meanwhile, the massive Heartless continues to destroy world after world, looking for more hearts to devour.

Sensing the danger the worlds faced, the Keyblade decided to grant its power to more fighters who it felt were capable of defending the worlds.

A small group of these chosen individuals got together and formed an organization known as the Elite Key Bearers. They travel in teams of two, and devote themselves to exterminating Heartless from the worlds. As of late however, the worlds have been suspitiously peaceful.
