Argus, spelled A, R, G, U, S, is a secret military organisation and research group dedicated to the unity of individuals with superhuman abilities. We have remained a top-secret organisation now for over twenty years, but now we look to you, civilians, for aid.

We can only express our grievances over the atrocities the failure of the ‘Suicide Squad’ has caused. The organisation we created, formally known as ‘Task Force X’, was a feeble attempt at transforming a group of psychopaths and super-villains into heroes who would save our Earth from even greater threats than themselves. Alas this concept was proved to be an impossibility, as these individuals did not change, in fact they now walk amongst you again and they are more dangerous than ever before. We tried to do what no psychologist in the world had been able to, and for that we have plunged America into a time of peril, an era of discontent and tragedy. For this we feel personally responsible, and we now make it our mission to cure the world of this plague that we released.

At the start of this message, we addressed you all collectively as Agents, and that is because you have been selected by ARGUS as being at the top of your field, and we shall soon be needing your assistance. For this highly top-secret mission, we need Agents proficient in all areas of work, from doctors, teachers, martial arts experts, computer scientists, forensic experts to field agents. You will all play a vital role in the new and improved Justice League of America, to finally bring down and capture these super-villains. And be assured, if our mission is successful you shall be paid in a sum enough to settle yourselves and your families for the rest of your life.

Secrecy is our highest priority, and whilst you have all been selected especially this does not mean you are irreplaceable.
