The year is 1715, The Golden Age of Piracy is roaring on but developments in the world are both fueling and threatening it. The end of The War of the Spanish Succession has left many skilled sailors high and dry and unemployed, no longer receiving the Sovereign's coin they have naturally turned to other forms of employment on the high sea's. This increase has seen a boost in Piracy and many Pirate Legends have come from the Worlds Navies, Blackbeard, "Black" Sam Bellamy, Edward England and many more.

However the world is changing around the pirates and not necessarily in their favour. In the America's Colonization is continuing, but now is much more secure. There are gradually becoming fewer and fewer friendly ports and rouge states in the Caribbean, as the Dutch, British, and French focus on protecting there trade routes and enforcing there laws more tightly on the colonies. The end of the War of Spanish Succession has ended all the turmoil in the Spanish Colonies and some have found themselves under new ownership. Yet there are still some havens left and the pirates can still freely move in the area, but for how much longer?

In Europe, War has recently ravaged the land. Britain has come out as one of the few successors, having gained colonies in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Ruperts land in the America's from France as well as Minorca and vitally Gibraltar in the Med, giving them overall control of the Strait of Gibraltar, a 14 Km gap between Europe and North Africa and the mouth of the Med. However trouble is brewing, the death of Queen Anne has ended the Stuart Dynasty and now in Scotland a Jacobite rebellion is forming against George I. On top of this victorious in battle Britain no longer needs so many sailors and as such many are being let go.... left to there own devices, but how will these events effect the pirates?

France is running the gauntlet of ruin. The once dominant power in Europe is suffering. Having fought and effectively lost two major wars, finances are starting to look scarce, The Sun King had to turn to the people of France and rally them to pay for the fight to the bitter end of the succession. But now there is peace, no longer allowed to support the English enemies the Jacobites, it looks like peace between Britain and France will hold true. But the Sun King who had quashed all thoughts of Rebellion and had made the French Royal Navy an adversary of the British Royal Navy has been on the throne for 72 years. All his children have died before him and his next heir is his Great-Grandson, Louis doesn't have long left, but how will the next king of France act?

Spain has been in decline for the last hundred years, her vast empire has been in turmoil finally culminating in the war of succession. But Philip V the new King is starting to put in place devices and commands to restore Spain to the glory days of Isabella. But she is still weak, her navy needs strengthening, the Barbary Pirates pick on her Galleons and plunder her trade, however will the gods looks favourably upon the nation?

The Dutch are experiencing something of a Golden Age of there own, art, science and trade are all booming, they have a stranglehold on the orient, have almost exclusive access to Feudal Japan, its navy is regarded as one of the strongest and fastest navies in the world, but she is in decline, failed conflicts with Britain have lead to an uneasy peace and although they are no longer fighting the Dutch are in tough competition with the rapidly expanding British empire, who have there sights set on India and the far east. Will the Dutch be able to maintain there Golden Age or has the sun already set on it?

While the Pirates of the Caribbean have managed to do well out of the turmoil of Europe the Barbary Pirates haven't been as fortunate. A strong and feared force in the Mediterranean this band of coastal raiders have recently been smashed by the British and have been forced into an Alliance that prevents them from attacking British shipping, However that only means that they can focus more thoroughly on attacking the French, Spanish and Dutch shipping in the are and the Atlantic, but for how much longer?

The world of the Pirates is on a knifes edge, this is there golden age, but now the hunter is now the hunted. These are the stories of those Pirates and those who hunt them!
