Welcome to the Gaian Institute of Photography!
WE REQUIRE ALL APPLICANTS TO SUBMIT LINKS TO EITHER A GALLERY OR EXAMPLES OF THEIR PHOTOGRAPHIC WORK.
This is absolutely a must; it's necessary to ascertain the basic photographic knowledge of all our members.
We will not, however, be accepting links to myspace or facebook galleries as they are inaccessible to non-members.
If you've found your way to our humble abode, then it is quite likely you have a serious, passionate interest in the art of photography.
If this is the case, we're glad you came!
We're looking for individuals who have a desire to learn more about photography, essentially from the combined knowledge of their peers. We believe in honest, in-depth critique meant to help you improve in every possible aspect. We won't sugarcoat our responses, so if you're looking for the easy answer, this probably isn't the place for you. In many ways, the guild will act as a school, with tutorial threads, informative threads on basic photographic techniques, threads on what to look for in a camera, etc. We will also be regularly running contests and competitions with rewards meant to inspire you to your absolute best.
If that description is exactly what you're looking for in a photography guild, this is the place for you. We are currently reviewing all applications/join requests. However, since we are looking for Gaians who already have at least a basic knowledge of photographic principles, we would appreciate it if you would either submit a link to your current photo gallery or be able to share your knowledge of photography in some other format.
