The Village Under the Stars - a tiny village in the mountains just beyon Sanctum - a city southside of the village. It's name originated when it was founded by an explorer long ago, who at one night found the village suddenly appear around him as he was exploring through the mountains. The Village Under the Stars was kept hidden by an ancient Draconian spell that only weakens when nightfall comes. Reason for it's secrecy The Village Under the Stars was held responsible by the Draconians.

The one in charge of the gate was one specific Draconian, who was known as the Chaos Dragon. The dragon was supposed to keep the Hell Gate under protection to keep the demons from plagueing the human realm. Normally Hell Demons couldn't enter the realm without permission, or access through a Hell Gate. Hell Demon's weren't even allowed to surface the realm but most chose to anyways. Consequences were of little concern.

One day, however, the Draconian - the Chaos Dragon- wife was murdered, and the Chaos Dragon himself went berserk, abonding his human form to the void and sealing himself within the form of the Chaos Dragon. Years later he was slain by his own son - Dark Ryosuke.

Infused with the soul of the Chaos Dragon after the first fight with his father, and then merged with 100 souls of the undead after the second fight with his father in Hell Dark was told that the burden he now had upon his shoulders was to keep the Hell Gate at bay. That's what the Village Under the Stars was dutied with for milleniums. Dark refused, and even with through their curses and hostility towards his decision Dark Ryosuke abandoned his village, which over the years fell prey to Hell Demons.

One night when Dark Ryosuke came back to visit his race had either evacuated for been destroyed by the Hell Demons. The Village Under the Stars wasn't as graceful as it had been when he had left it, nor did he expect it to. Low-rank demons infested his home, and though he abandoned it he killed every single one.

As time progressed a city began to build itself a few miles south of the village. First it was small, but slowly grew forming other cities around it, but considered itself as whole.

A total of five cities surrounded a larger one in between them all; each one connected with underground trailways, or aerial tubeways.
Dark Ryosuke watched it grow, while keeping the Hel Demons from slippping out of the hole that they were unintentionally given, keeping them from interacting with the humans.

One night Dark lost control of the gate and a multitude of Hell Demons escaped, and the city was their first target.
Without proper weapons, the humans stood no chance against them and suffered substantial losses to the Hell Demons.
Dark gave himself no choice but to interfere, and after days' fights extinguished the majority of the Hell Demons and gained control of the gate once more.

The city was grateful, and thanked Dark Ryosuke for his protection. It was then he explained the situation their city was in - with his village north.
He learned that the city was built as a refuge for anyone that needed a place to go.
Dark had given them one final warning, but they persisted in staying.

As years progressed Dark noticed barriers flickering around the borders of the cities, so he came down from the mountains and returned to the city.
What he saw was something else. The city had made modifications to the buildings, that reached higher than what he saw from a distance. Not to mention that he was able to see humans co-existing with other kinds of creatures a couple of number of elves, anthros, demons who take their characteristics as humans and animals.
He visited the mayor of the city, and he was told that past experience told them they needed protection from anything that came their way so they put up signs that greeted other people - human or not- to the city.

Dark resided in the village a while longer, only to learn that crime here was the same as anywhere else. The Mayor agreed, saying 'It'll always be there; we have no control of that. But we rather have internal affairs plaguing us rather than having external ones."

Things got worse. The city at the northwest had been dominated by a number of demons who summoned Hell Demons to break into the other cities. Only this time the city had help from other creatures.
In victory and leaving the northeast city desolated and destroyed they decided to call the city Sanctum.

The years kept on, and Dark watched the city grow and became stable. He was left alone whenever he returned to his village during the nightfall, but on occassions he would return to Sanctum for a couple of drinks or time to spend.
