++&+ Welcome to Dev il T heory+&++
A semi-literate to literate guild for those seeking RPs with creative characters, interactive worlds, and rich plots. PLEASE provide some sort of RP sample with your request to join, or a link to where we might find some. Though we're not elitists, we do like to know what level our members are at before they join.

[-]Never God-Mod. God-modding can refer to many things, for example being immortal (never gets hurt or killed, dodges every blow), or taking control of another person's character.

[ - ]Never powerplay. No one likes to roleplay with someone who is in one place, then is mystically in another without moving, or has actions completed that they have not included in their post. However(!) time-skips are allowed to be implemented on a case by case basis as long as they are spaced out accordingly and not relied upon.

Powerplaying is also used to describe the action of controlling, injuring, killing, or otherwise manipulating another character without the player's consent, such as shooting or tripping a character. It assumes that the character's fate is yours to control, and is one of the most impolite things you can do in roleplay.

[ - ]A lot of roleplayers prefer you to have a certain standard for how much you write, and it always varies. You might aim to write three good sentences while someone else wants three good paragraphs, or vice versa.

[ - ]Whatever you do, do not ramble! Nobody wants to read three paragraphs about minute details like the color of a dinner plate, the past of a character from birth to present day or the tone of their voice! Little details about a 'fragile ivory dinner plate' or a 'low, raspy hum' are great, but be careful; write too much and people will skim or even skip over your posts!

[ - ]No one likes someone who makes two or three posts and doesn't post forever. If you have to go on a trip, have a job or something, then inform your fellow roleplayers so they don't sit on their butts waiting for you all day. Also, if you don't like how a roleplay is going, work it out with the people you're roleplaying with, instead of just leaving.

ONE PG-13. Not PG-16, PG-18, and certainly not R.
Gaia TOS demands PG-13 content. What is PG 13?

Quote:
A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning to determine whether children under age 13 should view the subject, as some material might not be suited for them. A PG-13 subject may go beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category. Any drug use will initially require at least a PG-13 rating.
More than brief nudity will require at least a PG-13 rating, but such nudity in a PG-13 rated subject generally will not be sexually oriented. There may be depictions of violence in a PG-13 subject, but generally not both realistic and extreme or persistent violence. A subject’s single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, initially requires at least a PG-13 rating.

TWO Be Literate to the best of your abilities.
No l33t speak, no one-liners, and please
check your spelling. Do not use ** for action
and place "" around all dialogue.
Use italics for thoughts.

THREE Check your surroundings.
Take note of what subforum you are in,
and do not mix them with another. The
genres are separate due to wisely made
decisions by your crew, so abide by our
ways and we'll stay friends.

FOUR Keep the OOC speech to the
discussion forums for each designated RP
or to the main Subforum. Each and every
RP will have an OOC thread for its use to
discuss issues such as god modding,
character puppetry, and anything else
concerning the RP but not necessarily the
RP characters.

FIVE Auto-hitting MAY BE allowed in
moderation per RP. This is commonly
left to the discresion of the mods though
RP masters/handlers/creators my also
make that call if it is a fair decision.
Use common sense. If there is disagreement
over it then bring it up in the discussion thread,
and if necessary, contact a mod about it.

SIX INTERACT. Interact. Interact.
The key to any role-play is interactions
with others. If you have not interacted
with another character in the Role-play
by the end of your post you WILL be ignored
- UNLESS you are RPing out a pre-arranged
scene with another member.
