We are a Harry Potter fan guild, that unlike so many others, is based around discussion and not RP. We do have an RP thread for those that enjoy that kind of thing, but that is not the focus of our guild. We love to discuss characters, plots, clues and theories on anything and everything related to the Harry Potter books and movies!
We are a literate guild and don't take kindly to 'leet speak' or anything else like that. We also don't tolerate excessive 'fangirlyness' sweatdrop We'd also like all our members to be open-minded. Everyone has a different opinion (for example Slash) and we don't want any bickering or flaming because someone thinks differently from you 3nodding
Also, we'd love for all people who apply to join to be ACTIVE. We want active members and we will do guild cleanouts of non-posting members every now and then wink
Upon Applying
X You must write at least 4 sentences, with relatively correct grammar and spelling.
X We are NOT an RP guild - we don't want any character descriptions! sweatdrop
X Make sure you read ALL the rules on this page, and ask for a cookie near the end of your application.
X If you were a member of the last guild that is needing to reapply, just mention it so we know. If you weren't in the last guild, don't worry about this! sweatdrop
Reasons Your Application WILL Be Denied
X Blank, poorly-written or overly-simple applications that show you didn't read the rules (eg "i luv hary potta!!! heart " )
X Excessive emoticons, exclamation points or question marks - be considerate... they stretch my page
X No cookie request
X Blatant lying - such as claiming you personally know all the actors/JK Rowling/the 'inside scoop', etc
X Claiming that you're the biggest fan in the whole world (you may be one of them, or a huge fan, but don't tell me you're the biggest, because it's irriating and a little bit insulting to other fans confused )
X Claiming to be a real witch or wizard. ESPECIALLY claiming to be a real Harry Potter witch or wizard. stare
What 'Last Guild'?You don't need to read this if you're a new member, but it's just a little back-story. We used to be a guild called ||___Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry___||___The Original Harry Potter Guild___||, which was originally founded by Polaris. However, after a lot of in-guild drama, a number of the mods were removed or left the guild and Polaris' account was banned from Gaia, leaving us with no Guild captain (this was before Vice Captains existed).
The mods left over tried to run the guild as best we could, but we were limited in what we could do. We couldn't edit things like the front page, guild settings or even the subforums. The lack of up-to-date info on the front page and stuff had become confusing, and eventually - due to real life committments or inactivity - we ended up with only 3 mods left; LamingtonQueen, Emberleigh and Chaows. We decided to begin a new guild - essentially a replica of the old one - and move everyone over, except this time we would have a captain and a vice captain.
So, that's the deal for the big move 3nodding We're essentially the same, but we've given ourselves a new name, a new look and we're doing a bit of spring cleaning wink We hope you enjoy it here!
