Welcome
Welcome to Cult of the Muse. We're a rather small guild designed for writers of all sorts. From original fiction to fanfiction to poetry, lyrics, haiku, or any other form of creative writing. Many of our members are role-players, but role-play is not the primary goal of this guild, though who knows, eventually, a role-play thread may open here.
We'd like to thank those of you who have read this far for your interest in the guild! We would also like to extend our great thanks to our members for making the guild a success, and for standing by us, even during the lull in activity we have experienced. Before you join, there are a few simple things you should know.
New Policies
1.) Previously, each member of the guild had their own subforum. Recently, we decided to change this. Fewer members read other members stories when they are all placed in individual subforums. Because of this, we are combining our subforums together. There will be a universal review thread, and members are encouraged to PM one another with story critique, unless a member indicates otherwise, as well as discuss stories in the main guild chat thread.
2.) We recently made the decision to give the guild a new name, reflecting our purpose, and our design. We are the Cult of the Muse. Writers, and artisans all. As part of our expansion, we will also be adding a Traditional Art subforum, where those who dabble in artistic vision, will be able to post their works, instead of just those with literary pursuits.
3.) In accordance with our changes, we have decided to make the guild private, in order to preserve the writing of our authors, and the graphics of our designers. All inside content is copyright the original authors, regardless of the situations or characters they may contain. Individual copyrights may be listed, varying from artist to artist.
4.) We are still accepting donations for the guild! All additional donations to the guild should be sent to Dischord with the title listed as 'CotM Donation', so that they are labeled correctly for use. Prizes will either be used 'as is', or may be sold in order to purchase better items. With the guild change, we currently have plenty of subforums, therefore those donations are no longer necessary.
The Rules
The rules are pretty simple. We'll have a basic list, because that's really all we need.
- Make sure you read the rules in full before joining us.
- No stories that violate the ToS. That means no smut, no super heavy violence, no torture, no in depth rape.
- Make sure you slap a rating on your story in the title. Standard ratings are G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17. Nothing had better go beyond NC-17. Stories breaking this rule, or with explicit sexual content will be removed without warning.
- We expect reviews, not slander. Slanderous posts will be removed. Remember to be friendly in your criticism, it is meant to encourage and improve, not hurt and discourage.
- Make sure you read the information thread from top to bottom once you join! We do everything with a little structure so that we have an easy time sorting out stories and chapters from reviews!
