Abeir-Toril (Ai-BEER-toh-RILL) is the name of a prehistoric planet that existed before -31000 DR when Ao sundered the world into two worlds: Abeir and Toril. It was only recently that this truth was revealed through the Spellplague and the return of the sarrukhs, both of which revealed new lore regarding the ancient past.
The name is archaic, meaning "cradle of life" though scholars are unsure which part of the name means "cradle" and which means "life." The shape of the planet was very different from either modern Abeir or modern Toril, consisting of one massive supercontinent known as Faerûn. The world was populated with a number of races. Most modern races were present, in addition to some now considered extinct such as the batrachi while other races had not yet arisen, such as humans.
The surface of Abeir-Toril was dominated by dragons, giantkin, and the mysterious creator races. It was during this time that many of the battles between the gods and the primordials were waged and it was these wars which eventually led to the "changing of stars," the event in which Abeir and Toril were separated from one another. During a devastating war with the titans under Annam the batrachi summoned seven primordials from their imprisonment, leading to the near destruction of the planet. In order to save Abeir-Toril from the wrath of Asgoroth the World Shaper-a primordial-who sought to destroy the world she could not own, Ao sundered the world in two, granting the primordials control over Abeir, while retaining sovereignty over Toril for the gods.
Faerûn is a major continent on the planet of Abeir-Toril. The majority of official Forgotten Realms material covers this continent, and it has had more attention than any other area of the planet.
The continent includes terrain that is as varied as any other. Besides the exterior coastline to the west and south, the most dominant feature on the continent is the Sea of Fallen Stars. This is an irregular inland sea that keeps the interior lands fertile and serves as a major trade route for many of the bordering nations.
Next in significance is the Shaar, a broad region of grasslands in the south that, together with the Lake of Steam, separates the area around the inland sea from the coastal nations at the southern edge of the continent. To the east, Faerûn is bordered by a vast regions of steppe from Kara-Tur, and in the north are massive glaciers (Pelvuria and Reghed) and tundra. South of the continent, separated by the Great Sea, is the sub-tropical land of Zakhara.
Faerûn is a place where there is no lack of adventure. Riches, glory, and honor all can be earned in Faerûn. There are no shortage of creature to fight. Will you be an adventure who seeks their fortune or a farmer driven by vengeance. Maybe a noble who runs estates and makes decisions. Perhaps even the ruler of a city. The choice is yours.
This guild focuses on the forgotten realms lore. There is no fee for entrance. Be active, I can not stress that enough. Before anything look at the rules subform. This will explain everything you need to know before creating a character. Like what races you can use without special permission from the Captain aka me. The guild is semi-lit so try to stick with that. I'm pretty lenient on that so don't stress about that.
