Btooom! is an anime series adapted from the manga of the same title by Jun'ya Inoue.(Google?) The story takes place after the release of a Massively multiplayer online game called Btooom! In the game players are required to utilize stealth and strategy to eliminate each other using the only weapons available to them—a sonar ability to detect nearby players and bombs.

Someone must of really wanted to see you gone.
After all, it wasn't just random chance that they abducted you. You remember that chain letter right? The one that promised to make someone disappear? Looks like someone.. or a few depending.. wrote your name on it. You look surprised? Did you not realise you had enemies?

Prelude
Waking up in the hanger of some kind of air ship, the engines although muffled are still audible, you find yourself surrounded by others, some already awake standing around you, others laying on the cold hanger floor in slumber. There are men in uniforms with stun rods standing against the walls of the hanger, keeping the peace among the group of forty or so.. which you are apart of. Slowly everyone gains consciousness and footing, you didn't have to wait long for an explanation, a monitor at the front (back) of the hanger comes to life and a voice can be heard, it addresses you, all of you. Explaining in brief detail that you have been selected for something very special. Referencing a popular video game of the age, the voice begins to explains the rules of the game before the men in uniform begin issuing you satchels and parachutists, any who resist are quickly subdued and their equipment, equipped, for them. At the same time the hanger door opens, you are indeed in a plane, high in the sky at night. Throwing the resistors out of the ship while herding the more compliant people off of the air ship, the men did their job well. In a matter of moments the passengers had been thrown out of the ship as it flew over a tropical island, the parachutists will activate on their own, landing would not be life threatening... But it was clear that everything else could be.
