Across the human world there are settlements and cities that cannot be seen or discovered. These places are protected by a force called the Veil, a barrier that hides magic and monsters from humans. The Veil is kept intact by an organization of powerful magicians named The Council, who are appointed to create and enforce laws in magical realms.

A small town, however, has broken all the rules by allowing the Veil to be lowered by a set of exceptionally powerful charms. These charms are each attached to a bearer and kept hidden so that they may never be discovered and destroyed. This town, named Janhall, can now be seen by any human; Those who travel to or live in this place must learn to accept every human into their world. Many oppose this task, seeing it as a dangerous burden. Many embrace cohabitation as the right way to live, wanting to share a peaceful world.

What of the humans who have had their world shaken by the realization that magic and monsters do exist? Some have become hunters and slayers while others are striving to learn about and accept magic.

But how much time does Janhall have before the Council steps in? Can they convince the world that lowering the Veil is the healthiest way of the future?
