Welcome to the Academy Royale, the place to be for young royals and nobles. For the next four years, you as a student will meet other youths like you who share your future and your desire to become a powerful, responsible monarch, lord, duchess, or whatever you will one day become. You will find your home here at the Academy among humans, wizards, creatures, and more.

Our course offerings are diverse, with well-trained staff and a comprehensive course plan. Students are free to choose their classes, an initial examination in where their priorities as a leader lie. We will teach you how to act in polite society, how to interact with those of other lands, how to analyze information presented in your throne room, and much more on our grounds.

The Academy itself was created many centuries ago by those who wanted to create a school for future monarchs. To this day, the school welcomes all races with open arms, and is itself declared neutral ground, free of all worldly conflicts. For centuries, it has taught many of the most powerful rulers and nobles in history.

This year, the Academy is under new management. Some believe a recent incident is to blame for both the change in leadership and the widening of its historically royalty-exclusive doors. What happened last year? Why do students and staff alike sport battle scars? Who is willing to talk? Is it wise to ask?

How to Apply
1. Read the notes and rules about the guild, found below.
2. Ready to commit? Send us a join request with a link to a literacy sample, or provide us with a short example of your writing style. We want to make sure you do not use text-speak, have a basic grasp of English grammar, and can keep up with the way we post here in the Academy.
3. Patiently wait for a crew member to review your application and accept or deny you. If you feel like this is taking an inordinate amount of time, please feel free to PM the captain to ask her to have a look at it.
4. If you receive a PM from a crew member, something has happened! Maybe you missed something in your application, or we have a question for you. Please cooperate with us, we want to see you succeed here!

TAKE NOTE: This is a semi-literate to literate RP, and we take literacy very seriously. We do not look favorably upon one-liner posts, but are understanding of writer's block.

ALSO: We are also a very fast-paced guild, things tend to happen very quickly in the Academy. If you cannot commit to posting AT LEAST three times a week, you are bound to miss things.

A WARNING: Swearing is allowed in this guild.

Rules

1. Obey Gaia's ToS at all times. No exceptions.
2. Absolutely no godmodding. This is a blanket rule including the greatest roleplaying infractions, including but not limited to: invincibility, dictating other roleplayer's responses or actions without their consent, knowing things your character should not know, having powers that do not make sense for your character/the setting, mind-reading if your character is not a mind-reader, anything that is used to let one character force the plot or other characters and does not enable the story to be a properly collaborative effort with plausibility, etc. As a general rule, if you or your characters are exerting too much control over a plot or character you do not control, or interfering with someone else's plot/subplot/character without their consent or invitation, you are godmodding. If this rule is broken you will be warned ONCE, then removed from the guild. If you have any questions about what constitutes godmodding, please ask the captain or a vice captain.
3. When applying for the guild, please provide a link to a literacy sample, or write us a short example post.
4. Please stay active and post at least three times a week, but more if you can. If you know you're going to be gone, please let us know in our Absences thread in the main forum.
5. Keep all romance and violence PG-13. Romance is certainly not discouraged (after all, these characters are at that age!), but if it goes beyond hugs and kisses, we ask that you take it to PMs and excuse yourselves with a time-skip.
6. Once you are accepted, make a character! Post your profile under a new topic in the Characters subforum and a crew member will review and accept it. Please wait until your character has been approved before posting. This should not take long, but if you somehow slip through the cracks, feel free to PM a crew member to remind them to have a look at it.
7. There is a general limit of 5 characters max. If you feel you can handle more, please PM a crew member for permission to exceed this limit.
8. Respect each other. If fights break out between members of the guild, please do your best to resolve them without involving the crew. If you feel you must involve a higher up, please remember that they have the deciding say in all disputes. If a problem persists and it comes to the captain, her word is final. No exceptions.
9. We are a third-person past-tense guild. If you write in present-tense or first-person, prepare to be shunned.
10. Have fun!
