_'South of Barton Town lie the sprawling suburbs known officially as “The Villages” or more simply, “Towns” to the locals. Enclosed by a low wall to keep out riff-raff, it’s bounded on the west by a golf course and is mostly grassland.'

__Leon: The commander of the Barton Town Regulars, Leon leads the defense of Barton Town and its outlying suburbs. He has a large contingent of guards that operate in Town and the surrounding countryside. Leon is a friendly, good-natured, bear of a man who treats his mother well and is loyal to his friends.

Goof Greens Fluff: The easiest of all the fluff family of monsters.

Sand Trap Fluff:

Lawn Gnome: Yup…it’s a lawn ornament. In fact, there are a LOT of lawn ornaments out there…and they don’t seem to be very happy-go-lucky. Together with their pink flamingo guards and pop-up mushroom turrets, the gnomes have been constructing formidable bunkers at a rapid pace and seem to be threatening Barton Town with invasion.

Pink Flamingo: It's kicks can knock you back. Troublesome for melee'ers.

Mushroom Turret: It's a mushroom that fires cannonballs at you. It'll hit you from anywhere on the screen.

Lawn Gnome Courier: Messengers for the Gnome army.

Lawn Gnome Major: Comes in 3 Varieties. Gotta kill 'em all!

Bill's Ranch.

__'To the west of the Villages are the woods near the cleft hill known as Barton Trench. Carved out of those woods are the pastures and farmlands of Bill’s Ranch. Bill raises cows, chicken and is a famous farmer of garlic. He and his son, Purvis, run the ranch, selling their wares in nearby Barton Town.'

__Rancher Bill: Bill runs a farm and ranch to the west and south of Barton Town. He’s been here for years and has quite the extended family working the ranch along with him.


__Purvis: The spectacularly dense, but amazingly strong son of Rancher Bill. Purvis’s hobbies include carrying cows for distance (he puts them over his shoulders like a yoke) and driving fence posts for speed (he holds them still with one hand while he drives the post into the ground with his other fist).

__Rubella: One of Bill's workers. Needs to catch some chickens for Bill's order. Purvis has a crush on her.

__Klaus Klokenmeyer: His clock has turned into an Animated. He wants you to get it back.

The Zen Garden.
Watch out fer them ninjas.






__'To the west of Barton Town lie the sculpted and manicured Zen Gardens, tended by a family of resident botanists and horticulturists. Koi ponds, bamboo trees and groves of lanterns surround a central contemplation shrine. Famed throughout Gaia, these Gardens are a famous tourist attraction. The woods they border to the west are dense thickets that few people have a reason to brave. The road leading west is the way to Durem.

__It is home to the Wish Tree, the Shrine, and the entrance to the Ninja Enclave.'

_Katsumi: This lonely and slightly detached girl tends the shrine in the area. Solitary for many reasons, she is reserved and quiet, speaking rarely and only to those she has come to trust.


_Ninjas?: There is a Ninja Enclave deep within the forests to the west. These ninjas have been known to help the Barton Town council with issues from time to time, in return for the sufferance of the Town’s guards. They have had many conflicts with the Pirates of the Shallow Sea and have run afoul of G-Corp and its plans on several occasions.

_'This popular tourist beach is golden sand next to gentle lagoon-like waves. Surfers paddle far out past the barrier reef to catch the bigger waves there, and they swear that the swim is worth the time. A lighthouse stands high over the beach, warning ships about the reef so they don’t add to the countless shipwrecks found throughout the Shallow Sea.'

The jungles to the northwest stretch down this far, but have not yet fully consumed the old stones. The Zurg artifact called the Star Portal lies dormant here still, guarded by a handful of ever-present GIB agents.'

_'Long ago, there was a fierce civilization of warriors that built a huge empire in the area. So ferocious was their society that they tore themselves apart with their constant aggression. Eventually, the people themselves disappeared, leaving only their monolithic statues and ruins behind to tell their story. Jungles overgrow the entire area and what was once a massive city-state is now the home of monkeys and macaws.'

_Old'The giant stone remnants of an ancient empire fallen into ruin still stand among the dense jungle of this area. Rumors of a few, fleeting sightings of the ancient Otami themselves are surely just that…rumors. The Otami have never been seen since they destroyed their own civilization…and that was hundreds of years ago.'
