Basics

What is Gaia Battle?

Gaia Battle is a game within Gaia designed in the fashion of a massively multiplayer online role-playing game or MMORPG for short. Players can wonder it's field with his or her own avatar from the forums. You'll be able to adventure alone or with other party members an a quest to gain fame and fortune. One could engage in various activities such a physical combat, meeting new friends, or simply enjoying yourself. It is also free for any Gaian to play, and requires no download.

-

What are rings?

Rings are basically our weaponry or skills in the Battle System. As you progress through the game gathering various treasures, you will be able to find rings that possess special powers. The player can then equip and use them whatever way they please.

-

Do I start with rings?

Yes, you'll earn some randomized rings (most likely from a selection of starter rings) from the tutorial when you start the game. They will supposedly be equivelent in power to the rings everyone receives at the tutorial.

-

How can I get more rings?

You can get rings the following ways,

Loot
In-Game Quests
Trade
Marketplace

The number of rings you can hold is infinite, so collect rings to your heart's content.

-

What can I do with loot?

You can sell it in the marketplace or exchange the materials for items.

-

How do rings work?

To start things off, the Gaia Battle System will revolve around battle rings. We can only wear a total of 8 rings, excluding our thumbs. Thus, we have a max of eight interchangeable skills.

Each ring has its own power, skill, or ability the player can take advantage of for the purpose of gameplay. Some suggested example are rings that let you throw fireballs at range, or turn invisible, or get faster, or even project a force field.

Out of all these rings their skills can either be passive, meaning they work automatically as long as you have them on, or activation-based, meaning you are required to do something to get them to work.

-

How do I change the rings I have equipped?

Rings can only be change when you're in an area in the world known as a Null Chamber, only there will you'll be able swap the rings around to your liking.

-

How can I upgrade them?

You can upgrade the quality of rings by gathering energy orbs from defeated enemies or conquered quests. Once you have obtained energy orbs, you can "Charge" them into a ring to make it stronger and more effective. As a ring absorbs more energy orbs it's charge level will increase accordingly.

-

How can I get orbs?

First, there are three ways of getting orbs. You get orbs by battlling monsters, and defeating them. Another way to obtain orbs is to complete quests. Lastly, you can get orbs by salvaging them from rings that were bought and previously charged, but by salvaging it you can only get 50% of the orbs the ring had charged into it. Also note that "Salvage Orbs" do not factor into one's total charge.

-

What are Rage Ranks?

Rage Rank are certain levels/stage (spanning from RR2 to RR4, rage isn't required for RR1) at which a player can charge then burn the rage they have accumulated during battles. The more rage one has built up, the stronger the effect of the ring is going to have on its target. But once you burn the stored rage, you'll have to build your rage meter up again. You can think of rage as a special attack, not pertaining to a ring's charge level.

Also note that passive rings do not have Rage Ranks, and Rage Rank only pertains to the use of active rings.

-

I don't get the concept of Total Charge, what is it?

Total Charge is the measurement of number of energy orbs a player has collected in his or her travels. Energy orbs are non-exchangeable between players, but high charge level rings are transferable. So it's basically a way of distinguishing between a more experienced account and a lesser experienced account (not necessarily a difference in skills of players), since there is a lack of the traditional level system. One can still "twink" their way into getting nice rings, but will have to earn energy orbs like everyone else to increase their own total charge.

On another note, total charge of an account will never decrease in any way.

-

How do I utilize rings during battles?

First you click the desired friend/foe or press ~ to cycle through the targets, then press one of the number keys 1-8 in accordance to the matching ring on your action bar. The action should then take place.

If you prefer using other keys, the hotkeys can easily be changed.

-

What should I do now?

Collect rings and start killing innocent Fluffs!

When you collect rings and start to form combinations, you might find yourself scoring bonuses through certain combinations. So explore as many combos as you can and figure out what works for you.

-

Is there a limit to how much I can use rings?

Yes, there is a limit. In the game there is a thing called the Exhaustion Bar, every time you use a ring the bar rises slightly. Once it reaches maximum capacity, you become unable to use your rings. You can rid yourself of exhaustion by just waiting or kneeling. Waiting takes longer in lowering your Exhaustion Bar in comparison to kneeling, but while kneeling you're more vulnerable to enemy attacks.

-

Ohh yeah, what happens when my avatar dies?

Well once your health bar depletes, you'll be given a status know as Dazed. Once you become dazed you won't be able to use your rings and can only walk around slowly in the room you got dazed in, Your options are getting awakened by someone's ring power, fulfill the alotted dazed period, or return to the nearest Null Chamber. However once you are undazed, you won't have your full power just yet. Some of your rings will be disabled and you'll have to wait some time until it returns to normal.

-

Anything else?
