I just pipelined my comp, it does seem quicker. I also discovered that certain (maybe all) antivirus programs will slow the game down. I had AntiVir on my comp and it kept crashing the game. I discovered this when a warning popped up saying my something about my hard drive might be dying or something. One of the causes they listed were antiviruses using too much bandwidth. I uninstalled AntiVir and the difference was amazing. No game crashes, nothing. Before it was so bad it shut my comp off right in the middle of playing.
Have you tried Avast? It works beautifully for me, keeps you protected, and causes far less lag than any other antivirus program I've tried.
Oh also...I know that there are others like me who have the problem that when zOMG! inevitably does crash, it takes forever for Firefox to unfreeze. And while I can't prove exactly why this does work or that it will work for everyone, if you go into about:config and create a new boolean named config.trim_on_minimize and set that to true, it really seems to help keep Firefox's freezing to a minimal after those crashes.
As for what it's supposed to, all it does is cause Firefox memory to swap to disk while minimized, which essentially frees up memory for other programs you might have running. Which in itself is useful for a number of reasons, but I never expected it to be useful for crash recovery.
Thank you for the tip. My Firefox and processes are quite stable, I will ask around and have some users test this out if approved by them I will add it to the tutorial and add you to the special thanks section smile

Just making sure, you don't need to readjust to these settings every time you open firefox right?
What happens if you want to restore to default?
What happens if you want to restore to default?
You will not need to do this each time you boot up Firefox the settings will be saved. If you want to reset the options to their default settings you need to right click the changed boleans or integers, right click and select reset. I have included a more detailed step in the tips section.
