I apologize if this thread creates a sense of redundancy throughout the forums, but I was finally able to get Adobe Flash installed into my Firefox browser (originally I couldn't because of some "lack of memory" ). And so I've been using Firefox to play zOMG!.

Compared to using Internet Explorer, when playing zOMG! with Firefox, you will experience exceptionally less lag issues. Lag is an inevitability in any online game, especially an MMORPG like zOMG!, but take it from my experiences when I say that you'll have an easier time running a smooth session of zOMG! when you're playing Firefox.

I did install Silverlight onto Internet Explorer, but to tell you the truth, it pretty much made little difference. It goes without saying that Gaia Online is pretty much made for Firefox.

The biggest complaint I have in regards to using Firefox for zOMG!, however, is that I couldn't carry over my free Superchargers, Orb-Doublers, or Ring Buffers from Internet Explorer. I used Internet Explorer to earn those items after completing some tasks for Nico. Now I can't go back and redo those tasks, so it would appear as though that if I want those items I will have to cough up cash for them, which kind of sucks. User Image
Actually, there are some unique lag issues when using Firefox. There are some instances where I would hit an enemy in the game but none of it would register. They would eventually begin to register after roughly 30 seconds after having input damage to an enemy (and damage to me). But, comparatively speaking, this is better than if I were to use Internet Explorer, because for some reason, you're likely to lag like a snail if you're using Internet Explorer. Because of this, I personally encourage everybody to try zOMG! using Firefox and see if you feel any differences.

Well, it varies PC to PC. I have found that both IE and Firefox have their ups and downs for zOMG. I use both interchangeably. And as for your statement:

I didn't quite understand that but there's no way you'd lose your items just from switching browsers. They will go with you no matter what you use. If you meant something else by that, I apoligize. But if you're saying you lost them when starting to use FF, that would not cause that.

Well, see, what happened was that while I was using IE, I had a couple sets of both types of items; in my left slot I had 3 Superchargers (one in each slot), and in the right slot I had 1 Orb-Doubler and 2 Buffers (one each slot for 'Doubler and Buffer, and 10 Buffers in one slot). So I coughed up $5 for 500 G-Cash so I could replenish my supply of Doublers and Buffers (and Superchargers).

I think when I start zOMG! in Firefox I do get one quantity of each item in each slot, but I've not memorized this yet. I'd hate to have to pay again; I don't mind donating money to Gaia Online, but I'm not rich! gonk
Mm, I use Firefox at home and Flock at work. Seems Flock runs it very very nicely. It's Mozilla-based, but focused on media management. Good little browser, that.
firefox curshed on me!! But it's better than IE for sure. Chrome plays quite well too.
I find IE very smooth wth zOMG!... neutral
Even though Firefox runs better than IE, I still keep my graphics settings at the lowest. For some reason I feel that this does make a difference in performance.

Does anyone know if having extra RAM will help improve performance as well? My comp has 1022MB RAM (or 1GB for short), but does anyone know the minimum requirements of RAM when running zOMG!? Even if I may have enough, I get the funny feeling that a little extra RAM would help. Even if it doesn't, well, at least I'll have extra RAM for other programs on my comp. User Image
UPDATE:
I just went back onto zOMG! and my inventory includes two slots of Superchargers (1 per slot, including 1 from a Deluxe pack I purchased), 3 slots of Double Orbs (1 in a slot, 3 in another, 2 in another), and 2 slots of Ring Buffers (1 in one, 16 in the other). So I guess this disproves my worry of having to purchase extras of these items frequently. User Image

I almost quit zOMG a while back due to negative game issues. Fortunately, I stumbled across GamesTesterJan's thread. It is dedicated to helping zOMG players gain optimum game performance. And yes, Firefox was the answer for all of my gaming issues, including but not limited to, severe lag. Now, I enjoy every second I play 3nodding

GamesTesterJan - zOMG! at its best!
I use firefox, but i have an issue with it crashing. I cant be in village greens for more than 10 minutes with out it crashing, so even though i can hang out in other levels, i cant finish Village Greens.
gonk i use google chrome and IE. google chrome is sorta better than IE sweatdrop . I'm going to try Firefox and see how it is. based on what u guys are saying, it seems firefox is a better browser to use. xp

I use Safari and I have never had any lag issues.

Default browser ftw.

I alternate between Firefox and Google Chrome. I enjoy Firefox more so because of it's customization ability and Google Chrome because I seem to have less issues with it and it is a touch faster for me.

I only use Internet Explorer as a last ditch resort. Can't stand it. :S

I'm tempted to use Flock though. Never tried that one. May try Safari again too where as I haven't used it since I got my new computer.

@CrazyDave:: I updated my old computer, which was a Dell Dimension 4600i from 2 GB of RAM to 4 GB. Made no difference. I am not a computer genius so I may have done something wrong but it recognized the newly installed RAM and it still lagged like a #@I#%! My old Dimension's processor wasn't the greatest though.

My new one is a Dell XPS 630i with 3.25 GB of RAM and runs zOMG like a dream ... most of the time depending on server population and the stability of my internet connection.
