I agree! I mean, it's your contest. We're just the entrants. We did nothing but write a story. Which is easy. You're the one who has to tell us which of ours is the best. Which is also hard. I've read some of the other stories, and they are amazing!!! It's only right you get compensation for all the hard work!

“Heaven’s gates won’t open up for me. With these broken wings I’m falling, and all I see is you.” Beside her Area grinned, “am I sadistic to think it funny that a “fallen angel” should like that song that much? And before you start lighting the fire under my rear Umbra I understand that you’re still pissed about that. Loosing your “wings” and all.”

Umbra shot Area a look that could kill. Umbra snarled. “Why can’t you understand? It was real. Can’t you understand that? What is wrong with you? You said that you understood!! Now you’re going back on that?” By the time she had finished Umbra was nearly shouting, and they where getting concerned looks from the people around them.

A security guard walked up. “Is everything okay ladies?” He asked. Area opened her mouth to reply, but Umbra interrupted her. “Everything’s fine officer. Just a minor argument. No big deal.” The guard nodded and walked away, muttering something about “stupid kids.” Area ginned. “Having fun yet?” Umbra glared at her and stalked off.


Umbra walked back to her apartment, still rather angry at Area for pulling that stunt. She ran up the last few steps to her apartment, and saw that the door was slightly ajar. She paused outside the door debating whether or not to call Aura for physical back up. She settled on pulling out a silver knife that Aura had given her as self-protection, according to him there where things in this city that would take something with pure energy like hers and happily torture it. “Well, I guess I’ll get to see if he’s right.” She muttered softly. She took a deep breath and charged into the darkness of the room. It took her eyes a moment to adjust to the slight darkness of the room. She looked around for a sign of a person in the room, and saw Aura sitting on her couch.

“Why are you in my apartment? How the hell did you get in here?” Umbra growled. Aura grinned. “I’m in here to give you something from Area. As to how I got in here, think about it. You’ve seen me pick more complicated locks than this one before.” Aura handed her a bouquet of roses with a note. The note read:
Umbra,

I’m sorry about earlier. I do understand. I shall love you until the last rose in this bouquet is withered and dead. I hope you can forgive me.

Area.

Umbra rolled her eyes. “Of course Area would go for something that clichéd” she grumbled as she looked through the bouquet, finding a fake rose in the middle. Aura grinned. “The old fake rose thing?” He asked. Umbra replied, “Yeah. I wish she’d quit shoving fake roses in my face. That’s really starting to get annoying.”

Aura nodded. “I think she really does like you. I just don’t think she knows how to express it.”
“How would you know?” Umbra cocked her head.
Aura tapped a hand to his nose. “I have a way with these things”
Umbra raised an eyebrow. “Really?”
Aura nodded. “Yes.”


The next day Umbra looked for Area and found her waiting outside. “Hey Area. About yesterday, I’m sorry.”
Area nodded. “I’m sorry to. It was my fault. I shouldn’t have goaded you like that. Forgive me?”
“Yes.” Umbra realized that Area completed her; filling the gap caused by becoming human.

Whoops. Im glad I checked on the rules again. I completly missed the rzeznik thing. *fixes* I've looked over my story a few more times, and didn't see it then either! I'm such a dunce sometimes! lol.

It's nice some people read over the rules. People in the WF read the rules more often than those in the Art Freebies sub-forum, which is another haunt of mine. sweatdrop *art whore*

The honorable mention thing is probably what is going to happen. As of this post, and as soon as [Alphabravo] confirms his trade, the honorable mention will be 1.3k. I don't want the honorable mention to be that close to the third place prize.

So here is what I'm proposing:

First Place: 9,000g
Second Place: 4,000g
Third Place: 2,000g

Honorable Mention: 600g
Honorable Mention: 600g

That would make the prizes total 16.2k. As for the leftover gold and any more I may recieve from entry fees, would you guys be terribly upset if I kept it? If you really wanted, I could put you all on my donators list in my quest. sweatdrop

But it is up to you. I can keep dividing the gold I collect, or we can use my proposal. This is entirely up to you. Please post with your opinion on the matter.

As far as we are concerned, you are entitled to keep whatever you have left, and it doesn't really look like its that much. You based the prize amounts on what you would have available, and you increased them later.

You did an excellent job. It was a great contest, has excellent entries, you kept an regular and positive flow of conversation. Very well-done.
