THE CONTEST WILL OFFICALLY CLOSE ON SATURDAY NOVEMBER 4TH! DEADLINE CHANGED TO SUNDAY, the 5th! So get your entries in as soon as possible! (Don't wait 'til the last minute! Go to the "Prizes" post to find more, new reasons you might want to enter! *Sigh* I'm thinking about making ONE MORE extension for one person ... they just aren't replying ... I only have three entries (which were really good). It's just the contest didn't turn into what I expected ... I might just have to judge and post the 3 entries I have and close the contest. My schedule is getting too busy now. sad

If you like writing, humor, and Advent Children, this is a writing contest for you! I will post the information for the contest in different parts based on the categories below.

The Basic Outline and Rules of the Contest

Outline

What am I expecting the story to be like exactly? A funny, 500 - 5,000 word fan fiction based on any characters from the movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. All of the entries will be judged by me.

Rules:

1) It has to be a humorous story. (The harder you make me laugh the greater the chance is of you winning!)
2) Swearing is allowed (How could you keep the Reno, Barrett or Cid in character otherwise? xp ) but please no Yaoi or Yuri material. References are fine, but if you must, nothing very ... explicit. sweatdrop
3) Like mentioned above there is a minimum of 500 words, but you shouldn't exceed over 5,000. I'll be a little lenient, but I don't want a one lined entry or a story that makes me wonder if you are competing with J.K. Rowling!
4) DO NOT POST THE ENTRIES IN THE THREAD, PLEASE. Send them to me; I will be judging them.
5) Spelling and Grammar will be somewhat important to me. I don't want to see this:

Don't worry: a few spelling mistakes here and there are perfectly fine. I'm not your English teacher. smile

6) Of course, the story has to follow all of Gaia's ToS rules.

Entry Fees and Prizes

Entry Fees

Entry Fees will be 100 gold per person and I will not start judging the entries until at least 12 people have entered or until November 4th.

Prizes:

1st place: 1,500 gold + 50% of the donations
2nd place: 800 gold + 20% of the donations
3rd place: 500 gold + 10 % of the donations

The three winners will also get their stories posted up for all to read and enjoy.

I will be thankful for any donations because they will help not only me, but the winners out as well! I will post your name and amount on the thread if you do so. smile

UPDATE 10/18: I increased the prize money for first place by 500 gold, 2nd place, 300 gold and 3rd place 200 gold! I am also CONSIDERING offering the 1st place winner a custom made profile (by me!) of their favorite Advent Children Character. They get to pick the colors, type, etc. I will make sure I post it for sure if I decide I will do this. 3nodding

How The Fan Fiction will be judged
(in order of importance):

Humor - It's what the writing contest is all about! Just like I mentioned above, the harder you make me laugh, the greater your chances are of winning! If you have fun writing the story, it will show up in your work.

Creativity - If your story is original and well planned you will earn major points, but make sure and try to keep the characters in your story in-character or it might make the story a little boring to me.

How well you followed the rules - I think it's self-explanatory. xp

Good luck with this contest Meli-chan smile . I, as well, won't be entering because:

1. I am a horrible writer.
2. I get bored with writing
3. Too lazy ( razz )
4. Cage tried getting me to before, and i didn't so i need to play fair and show i am not sexist =O.
5. I don't punctuate.
6. I don't use capitals where needed.
7. I have a tough time spelling big words like "literally".

There, thats more than enough =D. Take care and hopefully, it gets on a roll.
