Sex is the only thing that can make a rating more mature for a story. Sever violence, racism, and other cruelty? Rated G.

Torture is A-Okay too.

People are never traumatized in the aftermath of torture. They're never flinchy, nervous, stuttering, quiet, and they never seem to have any sort of a PTSD reaction to it. Also, it never mars their body. What's a few whips to the back? Starvation? No problem! It doesn't make you look like a ashen corpse or make your hair and teeth fall out, it just makes you skinnier!

Being tortured/locked away in isolation for a long time won't mess with speech patterns either.

People are never traumatized in the aftermath of torture. They're never flinchy, nervous, stuttering, quiet, and they never seem to have any sort of a PTSD reaction to it. Also, it never mars their body. What's a few whips to the back? Starvation? No problem! It doesn't make you look like a ashen corpse or make your hair and teeth fall out, it just makes you skinnier!

It's also never fatal, unless it's some random, unimportant side character at the beginning of the book.

And nothing from torture is permanent. It's not like it's traumatizing or anything >>;

Not reflecting any signs of trauma means that the character is strong. Showing signs of mental scarring is a symbol of weakness, duh.

You don't need tension until just before the climax. 2/3 of you novel should have no tension whatsoever.

Of course not! By doing that, it makes your climax so much more interesting and dramatic in comparison! Who cares if most of your story is as interesting as paint drying?

It's always super easy to lose any weight you put on during the pregnancy after giving birth. Actually, scratch that. Your character will look as they always did, minutes after giving birth, and can go back to a** kicking the bad guys.

Unless it's angsty backstory for your MC. During complications during birth, the doctors tell the father they can only save one. Father will always pick the baby, who is the MC. There! Now you have a character who blames himself for his mother's death, and a father who resents him for it!
