Well, obviously the doctors were wrong. I mean, seriously, how dare they say she 'can't' have a baby? What did our parents & teachers tell us as we grew up? "You can be anything you want to be!" Including a mother! If she wants it enough, she'll get pregnant, against all scientiffic impossibilities.

Artificial insemination, surrogacy, adoption, or nannying are not good substitutes. Why would anyone want a child that isn't their own?

Alternatively, take your favourite canon character and pair him or her up with an Original Character (AKA Mary Sue) that you inserted into the fic for just that purpose. Because that's the only reason for including OCs in fanfic.

It's more important to show what the character wears and how they grew up than to show what they think, feel, say, and do.
