An orphaned boy. An old enemy.


Helix Illfork walked into the pub. The lighting inside was dim compared to the bright sunlight outside. He looked around till he found what he was searching for. A small bulletin board on the far side of the room that had posters of wanted men and deeds the town people had posted. Looking at the board he found what he who looking for. There was a 700 platinum reward for the capture of a drow named Lucifer Escatcha. A man who when he was young had killed both of his parents and left him an orphan. He tentatively garbed the poster of the drow and the one next to it displaying a young human woman in her twenties.
Leaving the pub he headed towards the outskirts of town. The cliffs around the town were covered in the bright yellow and orange leaves of fall. 100 yards up was a crew of knights clearing rocks out of the cliff. As he approached he studied them. he looked down at his hunt. At the bottom it said 'report to General Fall-stave for wear a bouts'. He guessed from the looks of it that the man he was looking for was siting on a rock watching the other men work. "Gen. Fall-stave?" Helix asked with a slightly nerves sound in his voice. The man glanced up. Then replied, "You looking for mercenary work?"
"ya, actually this one in particular."
Helix handed him the poster for the hunt. He had a stunned look on his face. "Escatcha? We trapped him in the cave. I think we broke thru but no one wants to go in after him. He's extremely dangerous. Why would a man like you want to go after him?" Helix looked at the general with a pained expression on his face . "well, to be honest he killed my parents and i want him brought to justice. He needs to pay for what hes done."
Climbing into the hole was difficult for his size. He did fit though and while crawling in gets bit by a beetle. after crawling for a bit he falls thru a hole, landing right next to Lu. Looking stunned, Lu jumps up. accidentally bumping the wall both the man and the elf hear a rumble and the entrance starts to collapse. Looking up in panic, they both dart to the far side of the room. Lu looks at helix in a half hating glare, annoyed already by the human's presence.
"I'm surprised they sent someone so young. " Lu says in a irritated voice.
Helix looks at Lu with a heated look in his eyes ,"Lucifer escatcha. I have come to bring you to justice in the name of the Grate Jastale and the mountain kingdom. "
"not if i have anything to say about it. You will parish in this cave just like your parents once did on my sword."
Lu turns and runs down the tunnel behind him. Bolting around twists and turns in the passage way. Helix takes chase. And after a few minutes of running comes to an abrupt halt at the edge of a cliff. noticing Lu in the water swimming towards a hole in the cave wall, he jumps off into the water. Swimming up to the hole he notices a flashing light coming from above. Climbing thru the hole he notices a gargoyle behind Lu.
"Watch out! " Helix screams jumping thru the air and landing a crushing blow to the gargoyles head. Helix turns to Lu. "Truce?".
"truce." Lu reply's "So, why did you save me."
"I realized my grudge was stupid." Helix says with a smile on his face.
"how so?" Lu asks.
"Well," says Helix "what happened between you and my parents is your business. And you haven't tried to kill me."
"Oh... So what do we do now?"
"Find a way out?"
And so Helix and Lu walk down a hallway into the unsuspecting future.

Eh, it wasn't really a thoughtful spewing of words but rather a quote of Scott Pilgrim, but take it as you will. xp

I knew what you meant, it's just I've been thinking about that a lot lately.

How popping out a baby wouldn't be worth it when you could just buy yourself a baby that already exists and needs a home for a cost equivalent the financial, emotional, and painful cost of actually giving birth to a baby?

Kevin wants a baby from our genes so either we go in-vitro or I try to relax about the idea of natural child birth.

Hm. Well, yes, a surrogate is a good idea.

Crepes, with either smoked salmon or ham and asparagus roll-ups or apple-citrus stuff or berries in cream sauce. It was quite nice. Plus I got to spend time with the dinner group I don't get to see much because of work.
