"Tch. The last time I had an interesting day that didn't involve people trying to kill me, me trying to kill them, or epic adventures of any type was when I was a child. As for what happened, I was chasing a butterfly."

Lika glared at Yuenn as he dripped in the doorway. Something about him made her uneasy.

"Sit down and get comfortable, if you're gonna stay."

She didn't see if he did so or not as she moved towards the other side of the room.

"What do you people do for a living? Do you like what you do?"

Harriet, who had just entered the room and happened to be next in line, answered unusually quickly. "Right now, I'm sort of in between jobs. I work as a waitress at a cafe three days a week, but I play violin in the street for money the rest of the time. I want to be part of a string quartet when I get the chance."

She sighed. "My big brother's got me in sort of a jam, though. He's pretty paranoid, and concerned for my safety beyond reasonable means. I swear, he must be mental or something."

Harriet turned her gaze to the next person. "Erm... let's see, what's your worst fear and greatest desire?"
Erika let out an exasperated sigh. There was no way she was ever going to finish her book with all these constant interruptions. She wanted to immediately reply "Can you not see that I'm clearly busy right now?" and return to her reading material. However, Erika figured that the individual was probably very persistent, and realized that a short retort would not be the most effective way to handle the situation. After a careful analysis of the situation, Erika realized it would be best to quickly answer the individual's question so that she could return to her book. Erika exchanged a very long, annoyed look at the individual who dared to interrupt her from her studies, and proceeded to answer her question:

"Well, if you must know," she replied, "my greatest fear is to be consistently encountered by incredibly obnoxious, annoying people like you. And my greatest desire is to obtain the ability to read this novel in peace. Now if you don't mind, I would like to be left alone."

Erika was about to return to her previous activity, except she glanced out of the corner of her eye another individual reading a book. Her enormous curiosity, and the exotic markings on this unfamiliar tome prompted Erika to walk over in an attempt to discuss literature with someone completely unfamiliar to her. She sauntered over and tried her best to be polite so that she wouldn't appear bothersome as she asked the following question,

"I am very sorry to interrupt you," Erika interrupted, "But would be so kind as to tell me what exactly you're reading right now?"

Accursed Lover

Lika started and looked up from her journal. The eager gaze of a bookworm met hers. She blinked, her only outward reaction.

'There are people here? Finally, I was getting lonely.'

"What did you ask me?"

The girl repeated her question. The sickening sweetness made Lika curl her lip just a bit. She spotted the other girl, who looked like she was going to cry. Lika guessed what happened (ah, the wonders of telepathy) and glared at Erika.

For a second. Lika just couldn't bring herself to care. She'd been alive too long. She sighed.

"I wasn't reading, I was writing. This is my journal. It's full of all sorts of interesting spells and techniques I've learned and all that. I'd let you read it," The girl looked like she was going to faint from sheer joy, "But it's confidential. If I let you read it, I'd have to either kill you, erase your memories of doing so, or enslave you for the rest of eternity."

Ah, crushing dreams was still fun. She leaned back into her chair and posed a question. Because she was bored, Lika wrote it in fire so it would light the room, and so the next person who deigned to enter would know exactly what to answer.

"Those who dare, tell me of what you love most."

... ...

She really was getting too much into this.

Nero never thought he would be here once again. He never thought he would allow him to get stuck back in this hellhole where people did nothing but interrogate them. But no, here he was. Standing right at the very door with dearest Luka Xalanderain at his side. She smiled like there was no tomorrow, like this was heaven and like everyone around were lollipops.
"Hello to all!" She greeted, her hand raised into the air as she waved at them.
Nero wanted to slap his forehead. How could he have been dumb enough to let her trick him like that? He should have known that when she said she wanted to shop for supplies in this city, she wanted to go here.

He hated her.

He hated the very way she treated him, she treated him like she thought he didn't care!
She wrapped her arm around his and then he felt his cheeks turn a light, pink shade. Luka grinned a sweet smile and had him follow her to sit on one of the couches, before it, stood a coffee table with cookies in the middle waiting to be eaten. Nero remember these cookies, they always magically refilled and at the same time; they were tasty.
He leaned closer and plucked one from the bowl, popping it into his mouth because he had nothing better to do. Luka watched him and then answered, "What I love most is...hmm...freedom. Freedom is the best thing in life, how can anyone live without liberation? I ask myself this often. That is why Nero and I must do whatever we can do, whatever is in our power. We must save the people of Terra. We must liberate them." She had heard Lika ask a question just as they entered and she chose to immediately answer.

Nero knew that these people probably did not know what the hell she was talking about. He knew they all lived in very different worlds and what Luka had said wouldn't register at all. "I like...silence." He answered because he had to.
Luka grinned, "I have a question." She popped a cookie into her mouth.

"What are you hobbies? It is a pretty basic, but interesting question."

"Hobbies?" Star said, nervously shuffling in her seat, She swept her long fringe away from her eyes as she spoke. "Well, where do I begin? I- I mostly like to draw, and write in my book..." Star sighed as she slumped back into her chair, and fiddled with a small orange leaf, laying on her lap
"can i get back to you?"

"Ah, I know... What is... your favorite color and why?"
Star asked, leaning forward expectantly

"I have two favorite colors." Luka answered, bringing up two fingers, "Orange and Yellow, they are pretty."
Nero shrugged his shoulders silently, "...Green. Because." He said quietly, trying not to think why green had suddenly become his favorite color. Luka had bright emerald colored eyes and she looked at him with a grin as he said this. He didn't look back at her.

"I have a funny question, what would you do if a hobo came up to you. He's dying of hunger and so are you. You are carrying bread, he asks you to give it to you. This loaf of bread will save one of you for starvation, will you give it to him and die or will you leave him to die and care for yourself--and no, you can't cut the loaf in half and I know that a single piece of bread will not save you from starvation, it's a hypothetical question."
Rachel smirked at the question, the scenario already igniting her morbid curiosity. She closed her eyes and tried to imagine the situation, and proceeded to visualize the suffering of the hypothetical homeless man with delight before she responded:

"Not only would I eat the entire bread by myself, but I would slaughter the homeless man, spread his blood on the bread like jam, chew on his entrails as an appetizer, and suck on his eyeballs for desert. Mmmm....homeless sandwich. Yummy! The mere thought of it is making me hungry"

Rachel salivated over the cannibalistic image. She then removed her favorite knife from its hiding place, and proceeded to play with it before asking the following question:

"Most people find me disturbed. They say that I've gone insane. Do you think I'm crazy?" she asked, with a dangerous look in her eyes, still holding the knife in her hands.

This was a question which Nero decided to answer, his eyes focused on the girl named Rachel, "Yes." He said as if there was no need to question that.
Luka just smiled nervously but Nero continued on, "Yet..." He said, "You don't seem anything but human. There must be something I am missing." He said to her as darkly as she had spoken to them. "Am I?" With his right hand, he took a cookie from the bowl and popped the small tart into his mouth.

Luka let out a cough, "Here's a question. What sort of things catch your interest?"

Again, Lika looked up from her writings. She blinked at the scenery change (hadn't this been a bar two minutes ago?) and slowly shut her journal. She obviously had to pay more attention if this venture was to be of any worth to her. She looked at the girl who asked the last question and blinked.

"I remember you. We have very similar names, you and I. Luka, right?"

The girl nodded. Her companion gave her a suspicious look. Lika smiled. He might not have recognized her; things had changed much since she had first met the pair.

"We also have the same colored eyes, save for the gold that flecks mine. Funny how I did not notice, you who fights for freedom. A noble cause."

Lika became quiet for a moment, thinking on the girl's last question. She liked this pair of Fated Children, and she did not want to alienate them. She swept a lock of dark green hair behind her ear and found an answer. Funny how such a simple question could be so complex.

"The average catch my interest. It is strange, I know, but I have seen and lived too many adventures. It is calming to watch those who simply live their lives. It is a reminder of what I fight for."

She sighed and rubbed at the crescent moon scar on her neck. It was icy cold, as always. She took what appeared to be a chocolate chip cookie from the bowl in front of her.

"Enlighten me on your views. If you had the chance to change a critical event in your life, or to live another life all together, would you do it?"

"What a difficult question," Luka mused, looking up and propping her chin on her hand, "It's so simple yet...something about it makes it so hard to answer. First of all, I would like to say yes. Of course I would do it, if I had the chance to change anything I'd jump right to it. But if it means that I will have to live a different life, I don't know if I will want that. Won't that mean that I will not get to be with the people I care about most, right now?" She tilted her head to one side.
Nero sighed and shook his head. He didn't know how to answer. There were so many things in his life worth mourning over yet he didn't know if he wanted to live another life or if he was satisfied with his own. Changing a critical event is big. That's what is is. It's difficult.
Luka smiled, baring her teeth at Lika, "And of course I remember you. The last time Nero and I were here, you were here as well."

Nero took a cookie and bit it, "I have a question." He said silently, "Would you rather be deaf, blind or mute? And why?"

Luka looked at him and grinned, "That's a good question." He looked at her sourly and she pouted.

Familiar Spotter

Wandering in past the others Bronei picked up her own cookie frowning slightly at everyone as she pulled up her own chair. "Personally I would rather be mute, it is easier to over come its difficulties and can be quiet useful in some situtations." she said thoughtfully looking over the chocolate chips in her cookie before adding, "What if you had to lose any one of your senses which would you prefer to?"

"If I had a choice," Lika said as she grabbed an oatmeal cookie, "I would lose my sight."

She held the cookie up in frint of her. "Look at it as so. This is a cookie. It is oatmeal, a favorite of mine. I can smell it quitely clearly, and I love the taste that comes from the smell. I can feel the crumbs catching on my fingers. I can hear my fingers move over the surface of the cookie."

Lika took a bite and smiled; oatmeal made her feel young again.

"I knew all of this without looking at the cookie. I don't need my sight to know things about the world around me."

Lika finished her cookie and smiled. She was certainly feeling happier than she usually was.

"How would you deal with a literal small mountain of paperwork?"
