Nina looked around the room. "hmmm, water and tap water. Help yourself." Bastet kicked her.
"Ow!"
"Be nice." she scolded quietly. Nina crossed her arms and slunk down.
" Who likes being nice?"

"What's good to drink around here? Nonalchoholic, if you will. My brother would have a fit if he found out I'd let liqour run through my system," She ask the girl.

Dallas smirked as Julie glanced around. "I don't think Julie knows any nonalchoholic drinks, do you Jules?"

"Of course I do," Julie muttered. "I've just never drank anything from here before. I don't need to. So I really wouldn't know," she said, looking at Juliette apologetically.

"Why would your brother have a fit, you not old enough to be drinkin' or somethin'?" Dallas asked suddenly.

"I don't," Dallas answered, crossing his arms as he slouched down in his chair.

"We know," Julie said, sounding a bit exasperated. "There's nothing wrong with being nice on occasion. Really, what's wrong with being nice?"

Dallas snickered and Julie made a face. "Damn, Dal, I think you've been beat."

"Oh, yeah, I can feel it in my bones. Shut up Jules," Dallas drawled. "There is no point, simple as that."

"Well, I know why Dallas thinks like that, but why do you?" Julie asked.
"I don't," Juliette replied, "But I used to. It was basically because I thought that if I opened myself up to anyone, I'd get hurt again."
Juliette walked over to the bar area and poured herself a glass of water. Not her favorite drink, but it was the easiest to find. She returned to the others and took a sip.
"To answer your earlier question, I'm old enough to drink. Julian just strongly opposes drinking and drugs, for his own reasons," Juliette said, "You understand, right?"

Dallas opened his mouth to reply, but a glare from Julie and a punch in the arm made him decide to remain silent. He scowled. Julie was getting better at noticing when his replies weren't going to exactly be polite.

"We both understand don't we?" Julie said, smiling at Dallas. He glared but nodded. "But how you used to be is kind of how Dallas and I are now. We try not to get too attatched to people who are still alive. And since we move around so much-"

"Not together," Dallas interrupted.

"Right, anyway, since we move around so much, we try to stay detatched from those kinds of things. Dallas is just better at it. But add that to the fact that Dallas was like that to begin with..." Julie shrugged.

"How long ago was it, that you thought like that?"
Juliette grinned, then looked at Dallas, her gaze staying on him.
"Oh, I suppose around five years back," Juliette said, "But then people forced their way into my life and helped me. It was actually a long time ago. A lot has happened since I moved on..."
Juliette finally looked away from Dallas to smile at Julie.
"I would suppose getting attached to the living would be hard, when we're so frail, and we die off so fast. But I don't see why you two wouldn't travlel together. Why is that?" Juliette added, taking a drink of her water.

"We're busy," they both replied, as if this was a practiced response.

"This is one of the few times we're actually in the same place," Julie added.

"An' I ain't here by choice," Dallas pointed out.

"You could have said no," Julie said with a shrug. "I'm glad that people were able to help you, though," she said, turning her attention to Juliette. "Do you still spend time with those people?"
Juliette shook her head.
"No, I've moved on. After I left the home, we tried to stay in contact for a little while, but we all went our different ways. I know I broke someone's heart in doing so, but it was the right thing for me. It let me breathe. They were good people, you understand, but they needed drama to live. It just wasn't me," Juliette replied.
She smiled, thinking of what happened to her afterwards. Sure, there were the few years that she'd spent with the gang, but then she'd met him. Oh, he was a painful memory, but sometimes the pain is worth it just to remember.
"How old were you two when you died? Or, excuse me, Julie, how old were you. I forgot that Dallas doesn't talk other than to make sour remarks," Juliette added.

"Ha. Ha," Dallas said flatly. "Very clever."

"I think I was... seventeen?" Julie said, tilting her head. "Yeah? Yeah, that sounds about right. Dallas was seventeen too," Julie added, rubbing her arm, since Dallas had hit her.

"I wish I could just walk away from drama, but it's like it's ingrained in my brain. I can't get enough it," Julie said, frowning. "What did you do with your time after you left?"
Juliette looked at the two, then off away from them.
"I was the leader of a gang for a few years, before I left. I was getting to old to be in a gang. So, I went back to my grandfather's home to find peace. Soon, I met a young man who I planned to spend the rest of my life with. We loved one another, but it wasn't without rocky places. We broke up a few times, but eventually we were to be married, and I was pregnant," Juliette said.
She took another long drink of her water, then winced at the taste left in her mouth, "Things didn't work out, though."
Juliette smiled inwardly. Why was she telling these two her life's story? She had lef out a few things, and a lot of detail, but still. She didn't even know these two. Not that it mattered. She wasn't opposed to people knowning about her life. It just seemed slightly unusual. Oh well, they were trying to be friends, after all.
"Seventeen, huh? I remember being seventeen. It's sad that you died so young," She said.
Juliette looked at Dallas, then smirked, "I suppose you think I'm foolish for sharing my life with near strangers, don't you, boy?"

"I'm used to it," Dallas said, not bothering to make eye contact. "People throw their lives at me all the time."

Julie sat for a few moments, silent, before she finally spoke again. "You were pregnant? Does that mean you're a mother or... did something happen?"
Juliette looked up at Julie, then smiled softly.
"I had an abortion, for reasons I'll keep to myself," Juliette said to the pair.
She sighed and sat her now empty glass on the counter.
"Dallas, why are you so mad at the world?" Juliette ask.

"Because the world just doesn't like Dallas," Julie teased, poking Dallas's temple. He pushed her hand away.

"I ain't gonna start moanin' 'bout my life," Dallas said sullenly.

"He's been asked this question almost ten times in the time he's been here," Julie explained. "But Dallas isn't used to throwin' out information about himself, because he still has it drilled into his head that it could get him into some trouble."

"An' I'd like it if you'd stop talkin' for me," Dallas snapped. Julie fell silent and looked at the floor.

"Do you have a gift that someone gave you, that you really love?" Julie asked, looking back up at Juliette.
