Trunk/Blue & Pink Giftbox Workaround

I've noticed (and experianced) the problem where you get an rare event, go to open it and it won't open. So, I decided to try something alike to the Avatar Customizing work around.

How to open it if it doesn't open:
When you get your rare event, click on it and say yes.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

It will go to a blank white screen.
At the top where the URL is, change clyde to Reinhart or Dale then hit refresh.

I've personally done this and I have had other do this and have it work. Figured I would help people and let them know. ^^

I believe this has been mentioned previously, and noted in the Avatar Customization workaround as well. ^^;

Oh~ And you shouldn't use the WWW load balancer when you switch servers, because there's a 1/3 chance it'll point you back to the Clyde server again. It's best to switch directly to Reinhart or Dale when Clyde goes down. 3nodding

I haven't tried Reinhart or Dale yet. It just seems like that the www worked. Though if I do get a trunk or something, I'll try those.

EDIT: I looked on the Avatar Customization thread and I didn't see it. It was just about the avi's clothes saving or adding items. If I didnt' see it..>< Then blame it on me being blind as a bat. But I did look. I'm going through the pages now.

It's really the same thing~

The WWW load balancer will randomly connect you to one of the three profile servers: Dale, Reinhart, and Clyde. Under normal circumstances, Clyde would the the primary receiver, and then shift excess traffic to either Reinhart or Dale. However, Clyde's psuedo-balancing function is borked at the moment, so it's taking all of the hits intended for three servers. That's why it goes down during high-traffic moments, or fizzes on and off.

sweatdrop I'm just saying, the "WWW" will work about one-third of the time. Using Reinhart or Dale will always connect you.

I agree. I use the Reinhart way on my Gift Boxes and it always works. The www way may not.

yeah i really do support this. i see people asking about it all the time in new threads and i feel the need to personally reply to each one telling them how to fix it. if this could be bumped enough so they could see it... it would eliminate all of the similar topic threads.
