Serena walked quickly down the street, her black, knee high boots making a rythmic tapping on the pavement. Her stride seemed purposeful, though she wasn't really going anywhere. She looked around every now and again, though those she passed wouldn't be able to tell if she was looking at them, or somewhere else, since her eyes were currently covered by a pair of black sunglasses. As it was currently night time she was catching a few strange glances from passers by, she didn't seem to give a reaction though.

Suddenly, muffled shouting coming from alley caused her to glance quickly in the direction of the noise and, since that night had, so far, been uneventful, she decided to investigate, hoping for something to do. Inside a gang was beating an elderly man who lay defenceless on the ground, curled up against the pain. Fear would have definatley shown on his face had he not currently been protecting it with his hands.

Serena frowned, never having understood the reason for senseless violence like this. Idiotic, that's all it is. How these people ever manage to trust anyone but themselves I'll never know. She thought as she walked forward, her footsteps instantly drawing attention from the gang, who seemed to be completly composed of men between the ages of twenty and thirty, and anyone else who looked her age, around seventeen, would have known it was a bad idea to be down here right now.

The leader of the gang, who seemed to be wearing a mix of black leather and chains, sneered as Serena leant against a nearby wall, acting as though she didn't care for this situation very much. "Well, well, well. What 'ave we got 'ere then?" He asked in an accented voice, not expecting an answer from her. "It's a girl, boss." One guy behind him said, and he looked like the stupid sort who'd come out with an answer like that. A lot like the guy in gangs in movies, who only seemed to be there for the boss to get mad at. "I can see that, idiot." The first replied angrily before walking over to Serena and placing one hand on the wall beside her.

Let's see the reaction I can get out of him. Serena thought and smiled slyly, the gang leader didn't seem to notice. "I heard the noise and came to see what was up; I suggest you leave that man alone." She stated after a moment, her tone implying that he would have to do as she said.
"What 'im?" Boss, as the leader seemed to be known to the gang, started. "He 'ad it coming to 'im and we still 'aven't finished." He said as he glared over at the man who was surrounded by the rest of the gang, though they were leaving him alone for now. "Although..." He added, smirking as he turned back to her. "How about a trade, you for him?"
"I'm afraid the reply would have to be no." Serena stated, crossing her arms in front of her. "We'll both be leaving here, or else." She added, her voice taking on a dangerous tone which, obviously, the others hadn't picked up on.

"Ooh, did she say or else?" A rather lanky gang member, who looked as though he used to be one of the ones who'd get picked on and had only joined for respect, said in mock terror. "I'm so scared." He said and started to shake theatrically as the others laughed at his show.

"You'd better be." Serena muttered quietly, though her voice carried around the alley. She stood up straight, brushing her waist-length black hair back over her shoulder before removing her sunglasses. Her eyes started to glow an eerie red that seemed to put the rest of her pale face in even deeper shadows. "Now, are you going to leave?" She asked asked casually, hanging the sunglasses from the collar of her black shirt before looking at the gang and giving a wide grin, which just happened to reveal a pair of fangs. The entire gang looked stunned for a moment before they ran off in terror, obviously not used to being confronted by the supernatural.

"Well, fun's over I guess." She said to herself before looking over at the elderly man in concern. He was pretty badly beaten and looked as though he would need to be taken to hospital. Though he was bleeding she forced herself under control and knealt down next to him. "You okay?" She asked quietly, the concern evident in her voice. But the man was cowering away from her, obviously more terrified of her than he had been of the gang. "L-Leave m-me alone." He managed to croak out, looking as though he was close to tears.

Standing she shook her head and left the alley, covering her eyes with her sunglasses again, before confronting the first person who passed. She took them down the alley, explained what had happened and, after she was assured the man would be taken care of, she left again. Placing her hands in the pockets of her black trousers and giving a sigh. "I guess my kind will never be trusted." She stated to herself as it began to rain, she didn't seem to give the weather any mind and, instead, continued on her way.
