It?s a simple, well-known fact that dinosaurs are extinct. The age of the reptile has come and gone, allowing the once weak mammals to grow and adapt, and soon take over the world. However, not all facts are complete and correct. As Albert Einstein once said, ?Knowledge is limited; Imagination encircles the world.?

"It does. Honestly."
"We've checked ? Knowledge is picky and wants to go live on Mars."

It was the image and idea of riches that called two Gaians to the depths of the heated jungles of the Amazon. Of course, it might have helped if they spoke the native language, or had a map of the area. Each day, they would pick a direction at random, hoping to come across the ruins that held their riches. They forged through pirana-infested waters, avoided the deadly accuracy of illegal poachers...

...but this isn?t their story, so let?s skip all that seemingly interesting stuff and get right to the ruins.

"Pfft. Spoilsport."

When they came to it, the ruins took their breath away. The sun warmed stones lie in scattered heaps, as if an ancient god deemed his worshipers unworthy and struck them down with a single fist. Vines hid the statues that were carved painstakingly by hand, choking the life out of the stone-faced images of past gods and rulers. The jungle had reclaimed most of the lost city, but one thing made then pause uneasily at the jungle?s edge.

"Holy ?!"
"Double-yew-tee-eff?!"

There were tracks

"Those are so not mine!"
"They better not be Godzilla-spawn!"
"Nah. Godzilla's under a contract to be in Tokyo."
"Didn't he face a lawsuit when he got back from New York that one time?"
"Yeah! He's lucky he didn't get replaced..."
"Ye- weren't we discussing these track-thingers?"

...The tracks weren?t your ordinary tracks. The prints within the mud were alien, and bore two claws with each step ? an imprint of a third toe hinted at a much larger claw that was bigger than the smaller ones seen. These tracks covered the entire ground in a big, confusing twisted mess, indicated that there was something living in the ruins... A lot of something, to be exact.

"Don't tell me birds evolved in secret and are plotting to take over the world next!"
"They better not! But... Aren't the tracks missing an extra toe to be birds?"
"They could've lost it due to evolving?"
"Makes sense."

Curiosity drew the pair forward, hesitantly at first before the lack of movement encouraged them to pick up the pace. There wasn?t an indication of human tracks or of an vehicle ? could it be that they were the first ones to discover these ruins? They ducked inside the first abandoned stone hovel, immediately backing out as the over-powering scent of death and reptile assaulted them.

"It reeeeeks of deeeeath!"
"Oooh. Forbidden scent leads to forbidden treasure?"

Marushii turned to Rabid Jigglypuff, a mischievous grin on her face. ?I dare you to go back in there.? She jerked her head towards the open doorway, her three tails behind her wagging with amusement. ?You knoooow you wanna!?

Rabid returned the look with a grin of her own, before ducking back in without hesitation. Marushii waited, peeking around the doorframe. There, within the gloom, she could make out Rabid crouched down before something. She turned, and waved the three-tailed kitsune over. ?Maru-Maru! Look at this!? The demoness exclaimed.

Before the demoness was a small nest made out of leaves, complete with an egg the size of a football. ?What is it...? Oh! Wait. Better idea ? let?s steal it and sell it. Or hatch it and sell or keep whatever the heck comes out of it.? Marushii said, a grin coming to her face as she crouched down and carefully picked the egg up. ?I wonder if there are more, and if they hatch into whatever?s now living here...??

"Eh, let's find out later. Let's grab it and run before whatever it is comes back!"
"Agreed!"

And that is how the eggs wound up in Maru and Rabid?s hands, and why they are being sold in Gaia?s market. It?s also why they disappear on ?mysterious? trips and return with a tan and more baggage than what they left with. Of course, theof name of their "product," "Fang Runners" leaves suspicion...

    After hanging around their fang runner for a while, one probably could pick up on their language. ^^

    One purchase per flat, please. If you buy for someone else, then see that you want one for yourself, please get someone to buy for you. ^^; One per person per flat no matter if the person is buying for someone else!
  • How many times can a 'Runner breed in their life?
    Three. See the breeding post for more info.
  • Any limits as to who a 'Runner can breed with?
    As long as the 'Runners aren't related and are of opposite genders and can breed, go for it!
  • I've bred my 'Runner three times, but I want to breed 'em again. Is it possible?

So you've decided that you want your own non-prehistoric dinosaur with fins'n'fangs? There are several ways to obtain one:

Ye Ole' Standard Speed Sale

For these, you'll have to post the FS-form and the answers to the question(s) or the pictures we ask you to find. The winners are those who post for a raptor first before anyone else -- ie, if person-V and person-T both post for, say, Raptor #53 and person-T posts before person-V, then person-T gets it. ^^

What to do:
1) Wait for The Fang Runner to post GO!
2) Post which one you want. "I want #1!" or, "I want the red female!" usually works, but if you put, "I want the red one!" or "I want the first one that's avalible!" or "I want the pretty one!" then you'll be ignored since 1) there's the chance there might be more than one red one, 2) depending on when you posted there might or might not be one avalible however we don't want to spend the time figuring out which ones are left for YOUR sake, and 3) they're all pretty - which do you mean? =o
3) Wait for The Fang Runner, Kit, or Maru to announce winners.
4) If you a winner, send trade to The Fang Runner with the proper amount.
5) If during a sale, someone took the one you wanted, you may quote what you said and try for another. Or just post again, trying for a different one. Whichever's easier as long as you don't edit.

What NOT to do:
1) Edit your posts during a sale. We're watching you~ >O
2) Whine if someone else got the one you wanted. That's just... childish, y'know?
3) Buy and then realize you don't have enough cash to cover the adoption and insurance fees. You'll wind up in the infirmary for this. =3


Auctions

Starting Bid: 6k
Autobuy: N/A
Minimum Increasement: 100g
Snipe Guard: If someone bids within the last tens minute, the auction will be extended another ten minutes from the post.
Items Accepted: Rare's and Donations. Use The Lucky Devil PriceGuide to determine the average worth of each item.

Some things to keep in mind:
1) Be nice to each other, even if the other person is annoying you with their constant higher bids.
2) Don't flaunt how rich or how poor you are. Fang Runners don't have a "refine" taste and think that any kind of meat is a good kind of meat to eat... biggrin
3) Don't edit your bids. If you wanna add something or fix something, quote it.
4) Don't bid with things you don't have. You'll recieve a free trip to the infirmary for it.
5) Send payment within 24 hours, or else the second highest bidder will recieve the Fang Runner. If you need more time (ie, you'll be gone on vacation when the auction ends) please let us know ahead of time.

As you can see, more info can by found by visiting the raffle thread for a paticular Fang Runner. ^^ There WILL be free raffles, where it doesn't cost anything to get a ticket. The catch? Only one ticket per person. :3

Fang Runners are polygamous. They do not have mates. Unlike the most of Gaia's pets, Fang Runners are completely wild. They have their own language which someone can pick up after being with a Fang Runner for a long time and not loosing their guts, though.

-Also, staying true to nature, same-sex pairings will not be accepted.- They don't have the proper... accessories to make eggies. o_o

1) Any Fang Runner can mate with another. Don't whine about who mates with who, please.
2) Both Fang Runners need to be adults for at least a week.
3) The amount of eggs varies and can range from anywhere between 2-5 eggs. The more active you and your Runner are, the more likely more eggs will appear.
4) If you're sure about the two who are mating, EACH OWNER must send a PM to the mule with the name of their Runner and who they are mating with. Also include which colorist you'd like in the subject.
5) Send The Fang Runner the cost of breeding, 3k. It can be split between the two owners any way you wish. Before you balk at the price, compare the FS-price with the price of mating, and compare how many eggs you get. Deal, no?
6) Owners are only allowed to keep one egg per clutch for themselves. The rest are to be divied up amongst the two. You can NOT sell them off yourselves. Those with the eggs may create an event to give them away, or a free raffle.
7) Runners may breed up to three times in their lifetime. Choose your mates wisely!
VIII) Runners may breed with another 'Runner regardless of generation, however both 'Runners must be of opposite genders.

While Fang Runners are wild and polygamous, our breeding program here is designed to also prevent in-breeding. In-breeding occurs when two 'Runners of the same decent mate. This can weaken the bloodline and, to prevent a second extinction, has been outlawed.

Looking for a raptor with a particular look? Have a pet and want to trade for something that runs really fast and has sharp fangs? You've come to the right place for specifics!

For pet trades, we'll accept the pets listed in our respected posts... If you have a pet that's not listed, feel free to offer a trade anyway! We'll take it into consideration too! If we reject any trade, please don't feel bad. Both of us are busy people... ^^;

To offer a pet-trade, PM The Fang Runner with "Pet trade - [(colourist of choice here)]" as the title.

NO LINE ART EDITS! Fang Runners have a bone structure that's too heavy to fly, so wings are aesthetic. Cosplays with lineart-edits are disallowed, because clothes... would be eaten. O_o Currently at this time the only way to obtain lineart edits is through a pet trade for a pet also with lineart edits. Note that it will be the colorist's decision to accept or decline trades.

Prices

  • For an egg, the starting price is 80k. This is all four stages, coloured to your specifications.
  • For an adult, the starting price is 50k.
  • NOTE! that
depending on the design you want for a Fang Runner, the price may rise due to its complexity. Prices can be negotiated.
  • Please pay in pure gold!
  • Payment plans are possible. Be sure to say that you would like a payment plan in the PM -- you will have 5 months to pay off the plan. Failure to do so means that you'll be hospitalized permanently. (Translation: Black listed.) Your 'Runner will then be put up for sale.
  • On a payment plan, but leaving for awhile? Be sure to tell us, or else you'll come back from wherever you went and discover that you've been hospitalized and 'Runnerless! We will not check sigs!

    About Pet Trades
    I'm a pretty busy person, so sometimes I decline pet-trades due to me being too busy to handle them. ;; Otherwise, if you're patient and are willing to trade... Here's what I like:
    • Zebra-patterned pets. No, I do NOT mean triangles or using Photoshop's stripes-pattern to dump on a pet! If you feel that you can't do Zebra-stripes... practice! =D Or let Maru color her own, as greedy and snobbish as that seems. ;;
    • Blue. I honestly like blue patterns. Light/Ice blue on dark/navy blue strikes my fancy.
    • Swirls. Swirls are great, swirls are fun! 8D
    • Medieval Ivy. There's a certain pattern that I LOVE... that I'll link to later.
    • As far as cosplays go... I have a fondness for obscure characters. Really, the only "major" collecting I'm doing is collecting KH/Heartless-themed Hippogryphs from The South Wind. Otherwise, I don't really have any favorites that I'd kill for -- people beat me to my favorite characters most of the time, so. xd
