Hello and welcome to the Death Wakers adoption central! Here is a place where life and death are blurred together, and where special children are offered to those who have proven themselves worthy.

You see, there are children out there in Gaia who have the special abilities that make them Shaman potential. Unfortunately, most of these kids have no ways to harness their powers if left in the care of their birth parents, and that's where you come in. The shop taks in young infants who are definite Shamans in the making, and the children are given foster parents as they are trained in the ways of Shaman. As they grow, it's the new parent's task to guide them and to make sure that they are mentally and emotionally prepared for of being what they are to their full potential. It's the duty of this organization to take them in, place them in foster homes, and train them to be proper Shaman. Are you interested? Come in, come in!

18 - 12 - 2006 // After about a year of inactivity, we are hoping to get this shop up and running again. I have a lot of things to confirm to make sure this shop stays alive, so don't expect anything sudden yet (flatsale anticipated to be up soon). Death Wakers has been taken over by Tobi = good boy. 1. Do not steal! This includes both artwork, banners, and the concept. If I find that you've taken art or anything else from this shop, then I will not hesitate to get a mod on your sorry posterior post haste.

2. Be courteous! It's always best if you are kind, considerate, and you don't bully others. Anyone who comes in trying to pick a fight, put someone down, or otherwise misbehave will be blacklisted without hesitation.

3. Follow the Gaia TOS. No cybering, no excessive violence or swearing. If roleplay gets a little on the borderline side, I will post a warning to the participators, and if the warning is ignored, then prepare to face the consequences.

4. Spell correctly! Do not use shorthand or 1337 while in this thread. If you misspell sometimes, fine, but if you are unable to write out the words 'are' or 'you' when posting, then you aren't very welcome here.

5. Do not pester any of the staff for a Death Waker when there are none available! If it doesn't say flatsale/auction/whatever in the title, then there's nothing up for sale. End of story.

6. OWNERS ONLY! You must post once every two weeks in your journal, or in a serious roleplay in the shop thread. OOC is a good way of letting us know you're alive, but I still require that something constructive be posted for your Shaman once in a while.

One : Infant
Description - The stage that you first receive your young Shaman. Much like any other baby, they exhibit the rudiments of their personality and their basic likes and dislikes. About all you have to do is feed them, change nappies, bathe them, play with them, and give them a warm place to sleep. Even this young, they have the ability to recognize supernatural activity, so they may get overstimulated occasionally if you have a supernaturally active house.

Two : Toddler
Description - Oh boy. Things are getting complicated for you now that your Shaman is a toddler. Now walking and learning to speak, they'll attempt to get into anything in arm's reach, and I mean anything. They'll be more aware of the world around them, and it would be wise to start their training at this point.

Three : Child
Description - Not so much of a baby anymore, the Shaman is able to move without assitance, speak fluently, and even begin to master their Shamanic powers. Still, they need a great deal of love and guidance, since they will be just learning about what exactly they are. At this stage, the Shaman's bonded Spirit will manifest.

Four : Preteen
Description - The hormones are starting to run, and your Shaman child is going to need a lot of help in just about everything. They'll be starting to take romantic interest in others at this point, and their powers will undergo a major growth spurt.

Five : Youth
Description - Angsty, rebellious, quirky, and a little awkward, this is one of the most trying times for your Shaman. Needing some directional help from their parent more than ever, their newly manifested abilities will need to be mastered. They can now select a lover and have children, though I don't recommend they settle down until later.

Six : Adult
Description - Completely grown, the Shaman is most in control of their emotions and powers, and is mature enough to go out on their own in the world. They may be ready to settle down and start a family, or perhaps stay a loner, but no matter their choice, they'll still stay around their parent mostly for sentimental reasons.

Seven : Elder
Description - No longer needing any guidance from their adoptive parent, your Shaman will have complete control of their abilities and is capable of teaching the next generation. Few Shaman actually achieve Elder status, and it is considered a high honor to be made one.

What's this, classes? Different Shaman come in different types. There are five main categories that all Shaman are grouped into.

Bone Dancer : The reanimators, these Shaman are moderately common. They specialize in controlling corpses to do their bidding, being it battle or for other tasks.

Hell Breaker : These Shaman can bring forth spirits that have already passed on to Heaven or Hell. They're a bit uncommon, but not that difficult to find.

Soother : Also common, soothers can lay to rest Spirits who are restless and malicious toward the living.

Ghost Weaver : The most frequent of all Shaman. They can communicate with Spirits who linger in the living world, and often learn to manipulate them.

Feral : These Shaman are the rarest type, being bonded to animal Spirits. For some reason, their powers encompass all the others, but the abilities only work on animals. ( Ferals will usually be auctioned due to their rarity )

How interesting... More shamanic types are being discovered, but their rarity is great..

Earth Speaker : Also rare, Earth Speaker Shaman have the ability to communicate and summon nature Spirits, and also can learn to divine the future by inquiring with said Spirits if properly trained.

Godsend : Equal in infrequency to the Ferals, Godsend Shaman are able to commune with powerful Spirits that cannot manifest directly, as their power would disintegrate any ordinary Shaman. They do not often have a single Spirit they are bonded to.

And then there is the legendary Shaman King, who may speak to the King of Spirits itself... But of course, there has been no Shaman King for a very, very long time...
