Many years ago, when all of mankind was in peace. All of the mystical animals were alive, and in peace aswell. A mother and a father, soon gave birth to a legend. This legend lived for many years, and just recently died. The ashes used to make many more children, in hopes, that one day, the world will be in peace again.

The Lowdown_____

We're looking for two new artists to help out with the Legend of the Tale shop in the Breedables/Changing Pets forum! You'd be responsible for helping to create new legends that users will look after in the Gaian RP universe as well as keep up with the growths of the legend ( there are four stages of growth: baby, child, teen, and adult ).

Being an artist for the shop is not without it payment. If you're selected to become an artist for Legend of the Tale you can receive anywhere from 10k to over 1 million in gold for your work. We can't say we won't be picky with who we want to draw the new Legends, but it is possible. It's because of that, if you're interested, that we request examples of your artwork. There is no limit to the amount of examples you can show us. In fact, the more you show, the better it could be for you!

If you become an artist for the shop, be aware that you may be called upon to assist with planning plots in the Legend setting as well as be available frequently -- at least to be able to talk to shop staff. ^__^

There will be more information placed here, but for the time being, if you do want to consider the position, feel free to look through the FAQ below or post any questions you have. Somebody from the shop staff will do their best to get back to you as soon as possible.

NOTE! If we're interested in offering you a position as an artist for the shop, we will be contacting you, and if that's the case, please do share if you use AIM or MSN -- you only have to after we've contacted you though. There's no need to share beforehand if you don't want to. <3 Sometimes it just makes communicating better.

Lets say you've been picked as an artist, what would your first plot/event/auction/raffle/flatsale/flaffle be? And why?: Very self explanitory. This is just to know if you're a smart artist. xD You'd probably start off with a welcoming auction, so ignore the auction.

Q: So what are you looking for again?
A: Two new artists to bring onto the shop staff at Legend of the Tale. They'll be responsible for the art of the new legends and all their stages.

Q: Breedables/Changing Pets? o_o;
A: The Breedables/Changing Pets forum is a place where somebody can pay with their Gaian gold to get art of a specific kind of character. In this case, it's a legend of some person ( all most all ways made up by the person who will be looking after the legend ) that has disappeared from the past and has come to be in existence again. In Breedables/Changing Pets you roleplay your character or pet as they grow and discover things, often within the Gaian setting, though it's possible to visit other places. Every time a new stage of growth is reached a new picture of them will be shown, until they're adults or reach their final stage.

Q: How often would I be drawing new artwork?
A: It honestly depends. It could be frequently or it could not be frequently. Legends grow in stages. From baby to child, child to teen, teen to adult, and for those growths to occur, the Legend has to be actively roleplayed by it's player. If the Legend is not actively roleplayed it's not likely that it will grow and another might just come before it. After you draw a baby, you're not likely to have to draw the child stage for at least a month, perhaps more. So it can be infrequent drawing, the exceptions being when you draw more than one baby at a time, but even then, those babies may not all grow at the same time. The only other thing that may come up is specialty things. Like items that are important to events and plots currently going on. Also keep in mind that every Legend comes into existence with a charm of some sort. Be it a necklace, a tooth, or something else. They're usually drawn with the Legend as well as seperately, on occasion.

Q: Is there anything besides art that I'd be involved in?
A: You may, at some point, be asked to help out with story lines and plots. If only as somebody to throw in ideas and help out.

Q: Can I see examples of previous Legends?
A: Most of the current Legends can be found at the Legend of the Tale deviantart account. The ones that aren't currently there are Lafe, Alex, Naeva, and Zita -- and that would be all of them.

Q: So the flatsales for Legend of the Tale aren't speed / flash flatsales?
A: No, they're not. I'll quote what I posted in the thread to clear it up -- if you've got questions about it, please ask!

"Okay, I'm probably going to go edit it so the front reflects this ( since I think a couple may not be aware of this fact ), but flatsales in the case of the Legend of the Tale are not your typical flatsale where fastest poster gets to claim the spot for getting a Legend.

They're writing flatsales. :: Nodnod. :: A writing prompt is posted and everybody who wants to participate is given twenty minutes ( that was the length of time given in the last flatsale ) to get in a response. Once the word GO is posted, people can start submitting their written responses and once the STOP post is posted, no more entries will be accepted.

Then whomever is judging, usually Xaria and a couple others ( cheshire has too, I believe, and so would the artists who are selected if they so choose ), go through and read the written entries and pick the one that has done the best in the time given. Usually entries are looked at for content, grammar, story, comphrehension and the like.

Afterwards, the winner of the flatsale usually submits the story of their Legend and the artist is given complete freedom to create the legend from that story and the details therein. Of course, the winner also pays the flatsale price to get the Legend."
