Summary
Full Moon wo Sagashite (Searching for a Full Moon, or "Full Moon" for short) is about a 12-year-old girl named Kouyama Mitsuki. She wants to fulfill a promise she made with her love, Sakurai Eichi, that the next time they meet, they will be closer to their dreams (Mitsuki a singer and Eichi an astronomer) because Eichi left for America. However, this is a bit difficult for her, as she has a tumor in her throat and she refuses operation (the operation will make her lose her voice.) One day, she's visited by two Shinigami (death gods) and they accidentally tell her she only has one year left to live. Mitsuki, being too young to audition, transforms into a 16-year-old with the help of Takuto (one of the shinigami) and wins the audition. She now has to achieve her dreams with the time she has left.

Full Moon - 16-year-old singer/idol and works for SEED Records. Mitsuki transforms into Full Moon on Takuto's command. Full Moon is perfectly healthy.
Sakurai Eichi - 4-year age difference from Mitsuki. They met for the first time in an orphanage. He then gets adopted by a couple when he's at age 14 and makes a promise with Mitsuki before he leaves.
Kira Takuto - The first Shinigami Mitsuki sees. He is short-tempered but he cares for Meroko and Mitsuki (especially) a lot. He can transform into a cream-colored stuffed cat with a bell.
Yui Meroko - Another Shinigami--- She and Takuto form the Negi Ramen (spring onion noodles) duo to collect souls. She is very passionate and playful. She can transform into a pink stuffed bunny with a red ribbon around her neck.
Izumi - The third Shinigami Mitsuki encounters. He seems cold and bitter but he is actually lonely and has had a deadful past. He can transform into a stuffed dog, but in this form, he cannot talk or use any other powers.
Jonathan - Izumi's partner, a ghost. He and Jonathan forms the Yami Nabe duo. They came to observe and make sure Takuto and Meroko are doing their job.
Wakaouji Keichii - Mitsuki's private doctor and he makes visits just for her. He was in the band Route:L; the same band as Mitsuki's father, Aoi, was in and was Aoi's best friend. He later becomes Full Moon's producer for her second debut. 
Ooshige Masami - Full Moon's manager and is from Village Pro. She is very happy-go-lucky and is always supporting and rooting for Mitsuki. She also likes to drink.
