Rei covered his face as a gust of wind blew cross him suddenly.
As the wind had stopped, He lowered his hands slowly. The endless meadow that he had once saw was replaced with a familar setting. Vibrant pink sakura petals fell before him.

T-the sakura tree on the shunobu island...?

Indeed, the suroundings took on the appearenct of the Shunobu's sacred sakura tree. Rei glanced around, feeling something was wrong when he saw something. A shadow... a fimilar shadow.

...! What does this mean...!? He thought to himself.

Tristis....!?
Tristis peered through the fog shortly after speaking. At last, she recognized the shadow. The moment Tristis realized it was Rei, she somehow regained complete control of herself. Under any other circumstances, she would've paused to welcome the control with open arms. However, she was so shocked by the appearance of Rei that she could hardly get one word out.

"Rei?" she spoke a bit incredulously.

She realized that her face must've been priceless, but, frankly, she didn't care at the time.
So this is it...
Your last chance....
What will you do?

Rei face showed complete shock, even though he'd faded much worse from previous dream. But like the rest, he could only expect something bad to happen. He just knew that he wouldn't escape this dream with out any harm being dealt to him, but then again, how could he be sure of anything.

W-why? ... Why are you here?
After a few moments of complete shock, Tristis regained some of her blessed composure. Her mouth closed into a thin line, and her eyes were not quite as wide. Behind her blue eyes, her mind was obviously whirring.

"I was about ready to ask you the same thing..." she said calmly."In another words, I don't know."

There was a new element to her velvety voice: uncertainty. It lurked deep beneath the stoic mask of her tone, but it was there nonetheless. Tristis knew all too well that she was in unknown territory when it came to dreams like this, but she was attempting to keep this aprehension in check.

"Where are we?" she spoke in an attempt to change the subject."First the white room, then the bridge, and now a field which I don't recognize in the least."
Rei, too, entered into a state of uncertainty. This whole thing, it was too odd, unpredictable, and above all, set up. But by who or what was still unknown. Like normal, Rei wouldn't have spoken about the locations of the that Tristis had spoke of, but for some reason he couldn't stop himself from speaking. Almost as if he had lost control.

The white room was where I spent most of my child hood as an test experiment, a lab rat, 'prototype' to recreate human life no the perfect life...
The bridge, that old wooden bridge was the same bridge that leads to the island you call home, the Shunobu.
The field... ... the endless field... that me from the enside...
"No! that's not true!"
A empty shell... that's what I am...
"That's a lie! I'm not a shell!"

One half of you has accepted his cold fate...
The other denies, swearing that he is real
Both have denied what keeps his body and soul together...
A glimmer of sadness filled Tristis' blue eyes for a moment, and then it was gone- as ephemeral as a firefly's glow.

"Hmmm...I was wondering why there were no butterflies." she said wryly.

The fact that he was referring to himself as an 'empty shell' disturbed her more than it should. That was, perhaps, because it was something she could sympathize with him on. Of course, she suspected that her mind was a bit more dark and sinister than a verdant field.

"So I'm in your mind, huh?" she spoke.

She tried to make her voice sound easy-going. It wasn't working.

"If you're as 'empty' as you say you are, then why arn't we in darkness? I mean, a field has potential...I guess. It mostly depends on your metaphorical outlook...ah..."

Tristis realized that she was rambling. Badly. So, she ended her rambling with the only solution she knew: shutting herself up. She fell silent and tugged slightly at her ebony hair.
Rei's hands were firmly bawled into fist as his arms hanged natually from his erect body. Nothing changed about his figure; standing there like a motionless manikin and the only part of him that moved was his mouth to speak.

Inside him, however, was another Rei. Screaming, trying to claw his way out with but all for nothing because he couldn't be heard. And yet another Rei who couldn't be seen or heard, or at least not aloud. Seemingly whispering into the ear of Tristis and Rei.

It is true, to be a true empty shell, this place would be nothing more than a darkess of an empty void nor would you be here.

As he continue to speak, the petals that would usually be falling from the sakura tree cease to fall, only to stay suppended in air not attact to the tree's brances or to touch the ground

Neither of the other places have no sigficant meaning because the come and go; however the endless plain is for me to wander... to wander endlessly alone. It's all I know.
"It may be all I know... but I want to change that"
Places come... Places go... this field is eternal...

Is that so?
Is that right?
That can't be... It's all a lie...
Tristis glanced at the sakura blossoms as they stopped in midair. She heard more whispering, too, but the words were barily audible even with her sharp hearing. Something was wrong here; it didn't take a degree in rocket science for her to figure that out. Her uncertainty still remained, though, so Tristis had difficulty putting her thumb on what was amiss and how to fix it.

"Sensei Rei..." she began, this time a bit helplessly. Tristis paused for a moment, but then words came to her . "Have you not tried to know other places? Have you already given into despair to the point that its already hollowing you out? Don't give up on yourself to the point of letting this happen!"

Her eyes widened slightly as she realized that nearly the same words had been spoken to her, once. Different circumstances, different times, but the same problem. Her hand subconciously reached to the collar around her neck. Slender fingers closed around its silver charm for strength as she continued to speak.

"I thought, for a long time, that my life was going to be spent alone. I would live alone, and I would die alone just like Trista. But it's not that way. Not for me, not for anyone. Unless they give in and allow it to be that way."
His right arm raised upwards, breaking the stiff motionless composure he displayed for the moment. His right hand past infront his chest and latched on to his left arm.
I haven't given up, I came to accept the terms I was given. I was created for one thing, to be on the cutting board for some sick human pursuit of knowledge that shouldn't be known. My body was stolen from another, my soul was artificial created to inhabit it. I have no purpose, therefor I shouldn't be allow into the outside.
"But yet I am... because I try to 'live' the only way I know how

Cold and alone...
Scared and alone...
You don't want that and neither do I
Tristis frowned at him slightly, her full lips pulling together and almost making her look like a pouty child. From what she could tell, her words were having no effect on him. I only hope I wasn't this difficult... she thought a bit bashfully.

"You were created and given life. So what if they created you for sick purposes? At the time, you had no power over it, and I assume those fools got their just deserts. But a life is a life. However it may come about, every life has a purpose."

Tristis stopped talking, and she waited for a response from Rei. Usually, she wouldn't even think of saying such odd things, but Tristis assumed that since she was in Rei's head it didn't matter. Besides, it was becoming more and more apparant to her that Rei needed help. Tristis feared that she didn't know how to give the help he needed, seeing how she needed help herself.
Even though the air had grown still and ever thing beside Tristis and himself, Rei's hair fell infront of his face. Under the air hid his eye, just as it also always have when he was hiding something.

...A life is a life, huh...
"..." Even the screams in the inside seemed to stop.

So we all agree
But we're still seperated
This can't be all. There has to be more that's being hidden
Tristis nodded slightly, watching him. Try as she might, she couldn't quite disguise the concern smoldering slightly in the depths of her blue eyes. More whispers she heard, and, due to the stillness, she could actually understand them this time.

"...are you okay, Master Rei? This is the oddest I've ever seen you act." she spoke after a moment of silence. "Hell...I can't say I'm much better off. I keep on hearing voices..."

Tristis glanced around though she knew she would not spy the source of the whispers. She lightly rubbed her upper arms with her gloved hands as though she were cold, but this was a reflex done more out of unease than chills.

Rei's fingers twitched on his left arm. He stood there in a brief moment of silence be it wasn't before long when his hand drop back to his side. He felt his leg move, and surely it did, take a one step towards Trists posistion. The sukara petals that touch him fell to the ground.
Odd... perhaps... or maybe this is the real me, the one of many sides you haven't seen.
"If I could only show you...but I can't"

You can't...
Or you won't...
We could help if you'd only stop hiding
Tristis remained still, watching him curiously. She noted with a small smile that a few of the sakura petals had started to fall around him once more. That, in her mind, qualified as a good sign.

"I suppose we all have an assortment of sides in us..." she spoke softly. Her tone was an understanding one.

When Rei put it that way, his behavior didn't seem quite so odd. It had never occurred to Tristis that he might have other sides to him, and she began to question just how well she knew this man. That thought unsettled her more than it should.
With another step, more petals that touch his body fell to the ground. His face covered his eyes still. "what.... what am I doing...?" He wondered as he felt himself still move with out his consent.

Tristis... there something I don't understand...
"This is something I want to know as well...
Why.... are you here. I know I asked this question once before, but the answer remains unclear. Just as places, people I've met came and went, all with a word.

He doesn't know
But I do
She's here because of us...
