Welcome to Sands of Change, home of the Baankh! Well well... where to start! There's so much to tell! I suppose I ought to start at the begining, and it all began about a year ago...
<center>The Story</center>
I was on vacation in Egypt visiting the great pyramids. We were touring one when I got separated from the group! I wandered around calling to people but no one answered all of a sudden there was a sound like falling boulders and I spun around to see that the hallway I had just come through was blocked off! I tried to find a whole in the rubble but there was no way out, I turned around hoping to find another way out but there was only the dark hallway ahead. I followed the hallway with great apprehension until just ahead I spotted a blue light! I figured it was the sky and raced forward but instead I found myself standing in a cavernous room covered floor to ceiling in hieroglyphics. In the center of the room was a stone sarcophagus (sp again) surrounded by several tiny obsidian caskets and above it was a blue orb. Going against my better judgment I approached it. I blew dust out of the intricate carvings on the lid and as I did the cloud mingled with the orb to form he figure of a girl. Her profile was amazingly elegant but as she turned to face me she reveled the mangled disfiguring of the second half of her face. It was repulsive but intriguing. She spoke in an unfamiliar foreign tongue and as she did pale ghostly figures arose through the stone lids of the smaller caskets. They were the forms of strangely shaped animals and as I watched they solidified before me. With a wave of her hand they lurched forward landing obediently beside me on the floor then she looked me in the eyes and my head spun I blacked out and when I woke the creatures remained, protecting me from predators as I lay in the blazing desert sun. I don’t know how I escaped but I’m quite glad I did. I wandered through he desert until I reached civilization where I told my story to an incredulous crud. Only when I had shown them the creatures did they believe me at which point a civilian commenced to describe to me the legend of an ancient Egyptian princess and daughter of the gods. She possessed the godly knowledge of love, loyalty, and companionship. She wandered the earth teaching tolerance and love. She was met with fear. One day she was captured by an angry mob and lashed to the side of a tall obsidian pillar every day after that the harsh sun rose and set. Unprotected from the sun her flesh would burn and at night in the cold she would freeze. Slowly she died... when she was finally discovered she was taken down embalmed and buried in a pyramid with all her most valuable worldly possessions for passing into the afterlife but in vein as she lacked the one possession she valued most. The stone pillar from which she hung was smashed into pieces and scattered around her tomb. These pieces sank deep into the earth and disappeared from site. It is said that these pieces of the pillar held her shattered dreams for mankind. If these pieces could only be recovered and resembled then her spirit could rest in peace and men would finally appreciate and understand one another. As the fable was completed a small elderly women in the back of the room let out a soft sob. "Don’t you see?" She took my hands desperately and squeezed them tight, "Can’t you see her in their eyes? They are her dreams! You must teach her lesson and they are your tools. They will teach people to love! You must spread her dreams!" Her eyes bore deep into me; all I could think to say was "yes." But I brought them home and cared for them and every now and then they present me with a small obsidian casket from which if cared for and loved will crawl a new dream, a new Baankh!
<center>What Does Baankh Mean?</center>
The name Baankh is composed of the names of 2 Egytian symbols, Ba and Ankh!
The Ba is something like a person's spirit or personality. When a person died it left the body and during the day the Ba would make itself useful then at night it would return to the tomb in search of the person to which it belonged, aka the mummy.

The Ankh is the Symbol of eternal life. It is considered the breath of life, one you will need in the afterlife.

There for the BaAnkh are the physical representations of the eternal spirit of the princess! The breath the princess needs to reach the afterlife is in the hope she holds for man kind and there for her Ba spends the day seeking tolerance in the form of these creatures.
I've decided to share the Baankh with the Gaian populus in hopes of spreading tolerance and understanding, not to mention i can only care for so many!
