I would have completely missed this little one. He had been tucked away under some plants, but Cestian found him and had to show off his find. Mateo doesn't speak it seems and he just likes to cuddle with his toys and hide as much as he can. I can't say that I blame him though, he seems very small and frail when put beside Cestian.

As I watch Mateo growing, I realize that he seems to want friends with a despiration that I have never seen in anything before. He tries so hard to make people notice him, and the more he tries the more he is overlooked. It makes me so sad, but there is little I can do. Mateo has taken to trying to make friends with the very earth itself, which I don't think will do him much good. Still, he tries and it seems to make him happy, so I refuse to try and stop him.

Mateo sat on the ground with the remenants of his stuffed bear around him. He had yet to find someone that was able to fix Mr. Bear, which of course made him rather sad and depressed feeling. He had one consolation so far. His new friend Hole seemed willing to let him play with him, which gave him something alive to cling and cuddle with. Hole was friendly and warm, and fast becomeing Mat's best friend. Still one best friend was good, but having more than one friend at all would have been even better for the young boy.
