Rina hasn't gone anywhere.
She is still on the front page in the bottom left hand corner. And she still appears with OMG events.
Rina's sole purpose is to welcome people (as was Leon until the Guild office opened) as such other than that she only shows up for special things. Really this is no different than at any time in Gaian history.
As there are a lot more NPC than when Rina appeared (w/ leon, Ian) There is just less opertunitys for Rina to show up.
The has been speculation a while back that she would have her own shop someday, but that has yet to surface.
The bottom left-hand corner doesn't really count... The point is no one knows who she is!
If people don't pay attention that isn't the fault of the Admins. Every Gaian who signed up and has had random events have seen Rina, wether they choose to wonder about the character is up to them. Just how the NPC's are used is up to the admins and in many cases they have future plans for them.
Rina has not been forgotten about, it's just her usage isn't as high a priority.
As for her being on the front page not counting, How?
You complain that she isn't used at all, I point out she is, so what if it's not much, it has her doing her job, helping new gaians understand the place. It's the whole reason her character exists.
As for the avi image. It was made by a user (I can't remember the name) around the time Durem was introduced, the user made Images for each of the NPC who didn't yet have images.
