Although I still don't recommend using the bank right now.... because at least two people have lost their entire inventories due to a problem that hasn't yet been identified...

Since there are other errors as well, I'm going to recycle this thread to collect information on them.

Note: If you were previously getting the general error message,
General Error
"This trade had been confirmed. You can only complete your trade or cancel it.
Click here to view your trade with _______. "
on a trade that was already started, you may need to cancel the trade now in order to proceed without receiving that message. If you are unable to cancel a trade and get this message when editing/confirming, please re-post. Update Feb 17: This -really- should be fixed now. ^^

So, if you've had a problem with: Confirming trades, getting error messages while trading, being unable to add items to a trade, and other things like this....

Please post here and include the following information:

  • Name and user ID # only for yourself, and please specify whether or not you started the trade. (How to get your User ID# )
  • Be specific about when/where the error message occured. Was it when you tried to start a trade? When you clicked the 'start a new trade button'? Or after you got into the trade window? Or when you tried to confirm the trade?
  • What was the EXACT error message that you received, if you got one?
  • Keep in mind that if you were simply having trouble with entering your password or something and the page refreshed instead of confirming the trade, that particular glitch is already known. ^^
  • Additionally, as much information as you can include about what you tried, whether or not your trade eventually went through, etc.

How to get your user ID#
  • Look at one of your own posts. Any post. xd Or look up your name in the memberlist.
  • Click the profile button under your post/next to your name.
  • You'll be taken to the page everyone else sees when they look at your profile, and the URL up above will look something like this:
 563097]http://www.gaiaonline.com/profile/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=563097
  • The number at the end (I highlighted mine in red) is your user ID#. ^^
  • The same process can, of course, be used to find anyone else's user ID# by clicking on their profile button.

    All (technically). Got the Red X on the first item, tried to add the second and page kept refreshing to still show only one item, a Red X the entire time. At the end, cancelled because I had no idea what ended up in the trade (both items are still in inventory).

    No Gold Included

    Tried Refreshing, emptying cookies, emptying temporary internet files, emptying file history, 'show picture' ability, and trying to start the trade a second time. Since it was not working, I did not attempt to send for fear of glitches/lost or duplicated items.

    (Sidenote: I figured it out by luck, lol, and some luckier guess work. Your's is the better post)

    well i would add one and it would just stay as one red x. order put in didnt matter. is that enough info?

    I have experienced gold not coming out of my account when a trade is complete. I can say for sure I have watched a 1k trade go through where my gold didn't go down and I have made a few other small trades, which I haven't kept track of. This only seems to happen with one-sided trades.

    I have stopped trading for the second but pretty soon I need to complete trades for my shop but I'll report any other anomalies when I continue trading.

    Tried to send Maids dress but when added into trade window it appeared as a red X trade wouldn't send...

    Trade never went through. Attempted it multiple times in a row, on multiple different occasions.

    Each time I attempt, it says:
    Starting trade with AuroraPheonix
    Begin trade by clicking on items or adding gold to your trade window.
    You must have a trading pass to trade your items or gold.
    Please confirm or cancel your trade, or click here to buy a trading pass.

    I bought a trading pass over 2 weeks ago, so I don't know what the problem is.

    why don't you just say the workaround the infomation you need is pointless, it prabably doesn't work with any item. gimme the workaround dammit.

    Sealed Letters were supposed to be in the trade.

    I didn't Try anything else after I got the one red X on all the letters I put in the trade.

    Yes there was gold in the trade.

    I tried emptying my cache, refreshing the page, waiting awhile and trying again but the letters always appear as a red X. It only shows one red X and won't allow anything else to be added into the trade.

    .-. What if the trade won't send period? A general error pops up that has been fixed? Should that be posted here as well?

    Don't be a prig. I am sure if you look around you could find your workaround somewhere, and then when you lose what you have in the bank you'll come and ask the mods for help.

    Ariel-Serenity-Brightwing #57216 starting trade to Livius #1454798

    Trying to start trade with Angelic Boots. Clicked on the Angelic Boots to put them into my trade box. Clicked ok. And the page reloaded as to show the loaded trade box and I got the red X in the square in the trade window.

    Tried to send trade off. Did not go through and my tradebox was emptied. The red X box disappearing. So, I put the boots into my trade box again and still it was a red X image... tried to send again and same thing occured.
