You have come to the Notebook of Deshi and Himitsu. Please do not post unless you have their permission.

This Icicle egg was received by Deshi on January 14th, 2005:

'An egg?' she thought. 'It must be Wethkin' thought Pika-Bunny. What else could it be really? Noctryn cooed at it and rubbed up against the ice. The large icicle was melting a bit in Pika's hands even though they were gloved. Noticing she decided to take it home and stick it in the freezer till she could find someone to talk care of it. After all, it was hard enough taking care of Noctryn!

Over a week past till Pika at last found someone to take care of the egg. A girl named Deshi had volunteered so Pika was going to give her the egg this very moment. Earlier when Pika had taken it out of the freezer, she was dismayed to see the icicle casing was almost gone. 'It was a good thing I found someone now!' she thought to herself. Deshi would probably have a puff pretty soon if the melting was any indication~! Spotting Deshi, she almost ran to her to pass off the egg.

"Keep an eye on it! It looks fit to melt into a puddle~!" Pika exclaimed with excitement on her face ^_^

About Icicles

Icicles are ice that forms in the shape of a narrow cone hanging point down. Water descends from above and drips off, leaving part of itself behind as ice. The hanging drop at the tip, before it separates, is losing heat to the air (partly by conduction, but mostly by evaporation), so some is frozen to the outside. This leaves a shell of ice on the outside and water inside. In fact you will find that the water-filled cavity may extend a long way up into it.

The water may get to the tip by flowing down the outside as well. In this case, the icicle thickens because the water freezes to the outside. This process leads to the common tapering form of icicles. Icicles are commonly attached to the undersides of eaves, roofs, undersides of cars and other places where water runs off in the winter.

Himitsu was named after Xelloss from Slayers, my favorite anime character. His most famous phrase is "Sore wa himitsu desu." which means "That is a secret." Naturally I was amused. Himitsu's name was actually voted upon from 4 choices: Himitsu, Yare, Dareka, and Xelloss, Yare and Himitsu being the deciding two. Himitsu won thus the Wethkin was named and we all lived happily ever after.

I had been wanting a Wethkin for a while before I was finally blessed with Himitsu. I suppose it says something about you when you loose an rp flatsale but manage to get one anyway just because you have lots of gold. lol

Himitsu's two best friends are Nicco and Egg-kun. He usually speaks in "squee"s which I find adorable! He gets along very well with his brothers and sisters (my Spritkins) and it a very good older brother to them. His favorite song is Dareka no Message by Akira Ishida.

The night that I got Himitsu, Mooshroom had a little accident. She stuck her tongue to the egg and naturally it stuck, Himitsu being an icicle. I spazzed so Cerena came to the rescue with a blowdryer but she needed an outlet.... So Kimi just happened to have to super power of transforming into one.... I love my friends... heart

After obtaining the egg from Pika, Deshi raced frantically home. She had been dreaming of getting a Wethkin for soo long she wasn't about to let it melt before it was even hatched!

Opening her freezer she moved the tv dinners and ice trays aside and placed it gently on a bag of frozen meat her mother had bought that morening. Just for safe keeping she also taped a note to the freezer door with the words "DO NOT TOUCH DESHI'S EGG" for she was sure her brother or sister would further inspect the foreign object. Deshi sighed and leaned against the refrigerator to rest.

"This is going to be wonderful!" she said allowed to no one in particular. "I've never had a pet of my own!... Except those planaria but they don't count." yes, she often talked to herself. This was nothing new. She would have liked to play with the egg too but the south and an icicle just don't go well together. She just hoped the freezer didn't go out or someone forgot to pay the electricity bill.

No! She had to stay positive! Nothing was going to seperate her from her egg! She would fight down ninjas for that egg! .... Deshi suddenly flung open the door to the freezer to check on the egg. Still there. It didn't seem to have moved since she had placed it there. That was good, considering it had only been in there 5 minutes. She closed the door again to let it freeze more. She had read somewhere that for every second the freezer door was open was another minute it would take to become the right temperature... Or was that the refrigerator... Oh well. She was sure it applied to both.

She squealed in excitement one last time before walking off to find her favorite drawing pencil. "Pika, I won't let you down!"

Mon Jan 17, 2005

Having suddenly remembered her ice gauntlet, Deshi threw aside her mother's ice chest in which she had been carrying the egg. She gently placed the egg in her gauntleted (?) hand and watched. A thin layer of ice formed over the already present ones and the Deshi was overjoyed! Finally, she could take her egg anywhere and play with and protect it without worrying about it melting!

She thought about all the things she could do with it, now! She could walk around with it... and watch tv with the egg, and go to the movies with the egg! Oh, what fun they would have! That wethkin will be so happy sitting in it's shell it might hatch early just to have more fun with Deshi!

But wait... What if her hand randomly started cramping or went numb? She wouldn't be able to hold the egg and it would crash to the floor and shatter!

Or maybe she would trip! She did have pretty good balance but her luck the one time she fell she would have and egg in her hand!

What if she went to catch something?

What if she forgot it was in her hand and she squeezed?

Deshi shoved the egg back in the freezer. "You aren't ready for the dangers of the outside world yet, my friend." Closing the freezer once more the took off her ice gauntlet and placed it on the table. "Geez, I'm a spaz..."

Mon Jan 17, 2005... again...

Deshi held her quartz crystal. She remembered when she got it. When she was younger her favorite section of Books a Million was the discovery section with the rocks and the scientific toys and such. She liked to collect the pretty rocks. She had a rose rock but she lost it at a friend's house and had been looking for something special to replace it.

In the rack for the quartz crystals, among all the jagged, square, crystals was a round and perfectly smooth one. It immediatly caught her eye as it stood out from the others so much. It looked just like ice and didn't look like it would be a crystal at all but she quickly bought it.

She had always played make believe that the crystal was magic, thus giving it it's perfectly round surface. Even her science teachers were impressed by such a shape.

Deshi held up her egg in her ice gaultleted hand and the crystal in the other. Both were alike, clear, smooth, unique, pointed at the end, and hers. It was then Deshi realized how lucky she was to have gotten the icicle egg and how perhaps it might have been fate after all.

Placing the egg back in the freezer she placed the crystal next to it. Once more, she smiled and closed the freezer door.

Tues Jan 18, 2005

"I'm home!" Deshi yelled as she bounced cheerfully in the door. Throwing her booksack and the mail onto her bed she ran to the freezer and pulled the door open.

The tiny snow larva puff, Egg-kun, she had agreed to babysit blinked it's little eyes, almost confused as to where it was and where its owner was.

"Been taking good care of Himitsu, Egg-kun?" she asked and the little puff nodded, making a cute little noise. Deshi picked up the egg and quickly examined it. "You did a great job looking after my egg! Would you like to do that for me everyday? It's too hot to bring it to school with me." The puff squeaked and flew up to rub against Deshi's face. Shivers ran down her spine as the icy creature touched her skin. She laughed.

"Alright! Alright! Too cold for my southern blood!" she patted Egg-kun on the head (?) and ran to get her jacket. "Wanna go out and play? It's a little chilly out right now so I think you'll be alright. I'm not quite sure if you can be out in the heat. I don't want Vanille coming back to a puddle, now do I?" Egg-kun eyes grew a little wide and shook it's head, not really wanted to BE a puddle, but followed Deshi to the door.

They played outside for a little while, running (or in Egg-kun's case, floating), and a small game of hide and seek which Deshi let Egg-kun win. It wasn't hard, really. She was certain a huge person was a lot easier to find than a tiny larva puff.

When they were both tired they retreated to the house and shared a quick snack of milk and cookies, even if the cookies were actually her sister's... SHH!

"Egg-kun, when Himitsu hatches, will you help me take care of 'em until Vanille comes back? I don't want to mess this up." She figured the cheerful sounding squeal and the adorable smile was a yes and she dipped a cookie into the milk. "Thanks for all your help!"

Deshi, Egg-kun, and Nicco stared at the icicle egg Deshi had moved from the freezer to the kitchen table (sitting on a bag of ice for safe keeping).

"When do you think it will hatch?" Deshi asked, not taking her eyes off the egg. Egg-kun looked confusedly up at Deshi and then circled the egg in curiosity while making cute noises that made it sound like it was trying to figure it out. Nicco was busy showing Deshi it's knew rolling trick but Deshi was too busy watching the egg.

Nicco made a sad noise and broke her concentration from the egg. "Oh! I'm sorry Nicco. What was it you wanted to show me?" Nicco squeaked and began rolling around again. Even Egg-kun stopped to watch the show.

"You two are so cute! I can't wait until Himitsu hatches! Yall are going to have so much fun playing together!" She bounced excitedly at the thought of the three of them together, only Himitsu was a curious white blot in her mind, having no idea what it would come out looking like.

"Well, I don't think staring at the egg is going to make it hatch any faster. I guess mother's little saying 'A watched pot never boils' can work for an egg... Not that I want it to boil it's just... Oh, you get it." she sweatdropped and placed the egg back in the freezer along with the little bag of ice it was sitting on.

"Who wants to help me find my calculator?" she shouted excitedly and the two little larva puffs floated cheerfully after Deshi as she ran into her room to begin the search.

Pika Bunny:
The sound of cracking ice could be heard quietly coming from the egg on the table... The small blue egg sat on what appeared to be a bag of ice cubes. It seemed to be listening for something. Softly, the ice covering the egg began glowing until...

Deshi heard the crackling sound from the living room and her eyes widened. Her first thought was, "Oh crap! Rocky got the egg!", Rocky being her sister's dog. She skidded into the kitchen in her socks, Egg-kun floating in behind her.

"Oh... my... lord...." whispered Deshi upon seeing the tiny larva puff. "YOU ARE FREAKIN ADORABLE!!!" she shouted, snatching up the wethkin and snuggling it, not even caring about the cold.

Himitsu wasn't exactly sure what was going on or who was hugging it but he was sure happy about it! (just gunna call it "he" for time's sake) He squeaked excitedly and wiggled his little wings. Deshi thrust the wethkin into Egg-kun's face.

"LOOKATHIMHESOCUTEYOUBEFRIENDSNOW!!" squealing like a rabid fangirl Deshi ran to Kimi's house which, as always, apparently within walking distance.

Deshi sat at the kitchen table trying to figure out what the hell Stoichiometry was when she heard cheerful squeaking behind her. She tilted her chair back and looked down to find Egg-kun and Himitsu playing tage around the house. Egg-kun currently had Himitsu pinned down right behind Deshi's chair.

"Awwww, are yall good friends now?" the two larva puffs nodded with big smiles.

Suddenly Egg-kun sneezed out a tiny snowflake. It floated in mid air for a few seconds, spinning slowly and sparkling in the dimly lit room.

The three stared at it in awe, ooooing and ahhhing at it and all it's beauty.

"It's so pretty..." Deshi leaned back her chair a tiny bit more to get a better look when the back legs of her chair run out from under here and the chair slammed Deshi on the floor, face first.

She was perfectly still at first but slowly pulled herself up and rubbed her face. "Oww... That-OMGHIMITSUEGG-KUN!!"

Despite the minute pain she would have continued to complain about for several more minutes, Deshi sprang to her feet and threw the cheaply made and terribly light chair to the side (later regretting it as her mother was pissed but at the moment too concerned to care). She dropped to her knees and searched the floor for the remains of snow or ice but found nothing.

"Nuu!! I didn't have it for a week and I killed it! And what will Vanille say when I tell her! OH GOSH!!" Deshi spazzed in the middle of the kitchen floor before something cold and semi sharp poked her in the back.

"OW!! What was that fo-HIMITSU!!" she snuggled her icicle cheerfully and then noticed a cold fluffy thing perch on her head. "EGG-KUN! DON'T YOU TWO EVER DO THAT TO ME AGAIN!! I LUFF YOU!!!"
