Introduction:
Hey, it had to happen sooner or later, right? Trend seems to be among those I know well to quest for things that are insanely expensive and would take forever to get .. if said quest ever succeeded. Not to be left out, I'm doing it. I'm starting a halo quest. Yes, I do know how much they cost. Yes, I am probably insane. However, I am willing to put in enough time and effort to make this a jolly good show. So come on in, cheer me on, or possibly donate towards the impossible dream.
As additional information, I quested for a sash last year after I was foolish enough to lend out my original and lost it. I do know a thing or two, therefore, about saving up for a good deal of time. My current plan is to invest in letters and events, and to sell them or trade for pure gold only when I've actually attracted a buyer. Until then, I see no point in doing such a switch.
This is not a quest being made lightly, or without realization of how hard it will be. I know this will take a long, long time, if indeed it is ever accomplished. I also know that I have all items that I want, aside from anything new that might come out, or the new donation letters, which I do intend to continue investing in.
Chatting is welcome, as it keeps the thread bumped and donating is in no way expected or necessary. I know it's a lofty goal. I don't expect much help. I hope for it, yes .. but that's not the same thing.
Why I Deserve This:
Well, to be honest I probably don't. There's others who donate more selflessly than me. I do try my best though. I am a nice person. Check my post history if you question it please. I am a regular in Welcome to Gaia and I spend a good deal of time in the Questions and Feedback forum. I help run one adoption agency on Gaia, and am a member of G-Angels, a group dedicated to donating to Gaians in need and providing them with some guidance while they learn how the site works. I've adopted and taken in many gaians and do my best to act as a mentor for those who need it. I've helped out on friend's quests, and occaisonally given in to the random request for gold. I get so many though that I try not to so much anymore.
Again, I might not really deserve this .. but I would dearly love to own a halo. Not merely for the status that such an item gives, but for the item itself. I have no plans to sell or anything of the sort should I ever achieve my goal. And if I fail I plan to return all items and gold that I am gifted with. That is, if I give up. I plan to run this for a long, long time.
All items and gold, btw, are located in a mule account. If I ever get up a decent amount there's no point in hacking my account ... it won't be there.
One last note:
I started this quest as a regular user, before modship. Now that I am a moderator, not much has really changed. Please, please do not feel obligated to donate to me because my name is pink! It means nothing in terms of this quest. Who I am hasn't changed and I don't want to be given stuff in hopes of a return favor. Not gonna happen. However, if you'd like to bump please feel free to. I don't mind the help at all.
If I ever succeed in this quest, and even if I don't I thank you all for your support heart . Pre and post modding it is really appreciated.
Also, it ever happens that I am deemed worthy and actually given halo, all donations are going to be given up for charity to worthy causes. That is my promise. Not that I will ever be called on it, but for the record there it is.

sad I have no right to be doing this quest. I'm not on to bump it because I'm far too busy moderating.
This is the first time I've stopped in here in, what, two weeks? Three weeks?
Not right.
I'm going to be giving out a prize for the 300th page bumper, then I'm shutting this down and changing it.
Probably re-locating to a new thread, and altering the quest to one for angelic minis. I may stand a chance at those. A halo is just out of my league by far too much.
I should have realized that when I started it, actually, but I wanted to try and reach for the big impossible.
After three months though I'm farther from the goal than I was when I started. Inflation jumped, making it even further out of my grasp than it had started at.
The impossible dream it is .... and it just feels wrong to be accepting donations for something which I realize now I will never achieve. Therefore, I will be most likely locking this thread, and making my new quest elsewhere. I will link, of course.
As I'm altering my goals, if anyone wants their gold back please let me know. As I'm changing the quest, not giving up on it entirely I'm not going to pm everyone whose donated and ask if they want their gold back.
I will be transferring names of donators to the new thread.
