Welcome to Gaia! ::

User Image

Welcome to the Orphans of Gaia HQ, here you will have the opportunity to give a home to a child that is in need. Whether their parents have abandoned them upon the doorstep or something terrible has happened that has left them without a family. This is where you can come in and help these children get what they need. A loving and caring parent that will take care of them. Clothe and feed them and wipe away their tears. Guide them through the tender, impressionable years of a baby or child. Try to teach them right from wrong or keep them under control as an adolescent or teen. Hopefully the child will reach adulthood and with your guidance become valuable assets to the Gaia society. Thank you for stopping in and please, take a look around and visit with us for a while.

Q: How much do they cost?

A: Variable, these will most likely be flatsaled or auctioned.

Q: How much for the items?

A: Again, this is variable, depending on what you want.

Q: Do I have to roleplay with my Orphan?

A: No, the only thing that you are required to do, is feed and clothe them, make certain that they get an education. Roleplay is good for those that want to develop a 'relationship' with their Orphan. Regardless each Orphan will have a Journal that + Within + will over see and add updates so you can see how your child is doing even if you are not interacting with them. Think of it as sending the Orphan off to private school. While it's more costly on the parent, they are still being taken care of well.

Q: Can my Orphan die?

A: No, they cannot die but if they are mistreated or they are not taken care of then they will be considered abandoned by their parent. After the Orphan has reached the adult stage there are no further commitments on the Parent's side, you can either have a relationship with your child or you can allow them to live their own life without you.

Q: Can I adopt an adult?

A: No, they don't need to be taken care of.....

Q: Can my Orphan get sick?

A: Yes they can, so you may be required to pay for any doctor bills if your Orphan hasn't been taken care of properly.

Q: Can I name my Orphan?

A: Only if it is a baby, if it is a child just like in real life the child will already have a name and a personality. You could change the child's name if you wanted to but then, think of what sort of effect that would have on the child.

Q: Can I hire a nanny?

A: Yes, instead of sending your child away to school if you do not wish to roleplay with them, you can hire a nanny and have that NPC take your child to and from school and make certain that they are fed, bathed and sleep regularly.

Q: Do you refund?

A: No, we do not do refunds, sorry. If you do not wish to take care of your Orphan anymore then you can abandon it. The child will then wait for someone else to be willing to take care of him or her.

Q: Can my Orphan breed?

A: Well, yes they can as adults, though this is only through roleplay of your Orphan that they will have the ablity to fall in love and have a family of their own one day.
As long as there have been children, there have been Orphans. Whether through tragedy, neglect or simply out of not wanting the child, even at times it is for the best interests of the child they become Orphans. The world of Gaia in all it's perfections and imperfections is no different. There are children, there are Orphens and one thing ties them to one another. They need the love of a parent, the guidance and security to grow up happy and healthy, to flourish into the adults they can one day be instead of oppressed into the life that has been given to them without asking.

Main Story

Once upon a time, not very long ago there was a tragedy that hit the world of Gaia. What was supposed to be a happy time filled with laughter and excitement turned to terror and devestating loss "There were no surviors, save one". This, echos through the ears of the children that have been left without parents now, left without that love, slowly wilting them over time until all that is left is a tearful representation of the joy that they used to know. Children, stuck in the streets, weathering the biting cold of the oncoming winter, eating what little candy that they had left. These little forgotten ones that were not at the party that had taken so many of their parents away from them. But they were not forgotten, Unjust Judgement and Within found all these Orphans of Gaia. But they cannot do it alone, it is so difficult to feed so many children by yourself and to take care of them as well! They had to hire on a nanny named Maru that is at times, not the most gentle of caretakers unbeknownst to the owners of the ophanage. Time goes on, Thanksgiving spare but happy, Christmas didn't have the same joy that it used to and now, they have Maru to deal with.

"Will I ever be loved again?" all of the children ask...only you hold the answer to that question.
Adoption Center

Unjust Judgement has one pet trade in his heart at the moment, that is a GMFC appointment, please help him reach this goal or trade with him for one of these beautiful children.

Growth

The Orphans come in several different stages.

Baby- This is the Orphan that will need the most attention. There are costs of formula and diapers that need to be put into consideration. Nanny's do charge more for taking care of the little ones though the perk to adopting an Orphan at this stage is that you get to watch them grow in all the stages. If you do not wish to have a Nanny you can care for your Orphan yourself by making Journal entries.

Toddler- This is much like the baby stage of growth, though your Orphan is more apt to communicate his or her needs to you, the cost of a nanny is still more expensive due to the need to potty train and just how much effort it takes to get the Orphan through this stage.

Child- Your Orphan is a child, perhaps you've had them since a baby, they should be happy and healthy now. Sometimes though, the child is not happy because he or she has been an Orphan for too long or they have been through a terrible experience which will be described in each Orphan's background story found within the journal that has been created for them.

Teen- Almost out of your hair!! Erm... or rather, nearly to the adult stage where they can take care of themselves. Unfortunately there are still some Orphans that make it to the teen stage without having found a stable family to care for them, if this is the case, expect problems with this child because they tend to be untrusting and very rebellious.

Adult- Grown into an adult now, your Orphan can either love you or hate you, maybe they just don't care or perhaps they are just grateful that there was someone out there that took such good care of them, even if they've never met. Sometimes the Orphans grow into adulthood to have a very close relationship with their parent that has taken the time to roleplay their 'growing up' with them. It's all up to you and how you desire to take care of your Orphen!
Abandoned!

There are no abandoned Orphans at this time.
Items

Items

Unjust Judgement is going to be making all items for your Orphan by hand. Please try to stick with the Gaian items as clothing and accessories for these are indeed Gaian children. Simple things will cost about 300g to 2000g if they are reasonable. If you want something that is very complex he will charge you more for the difficulty. But this way you have a rough idea of what it will cost. A braclet, cheap, a nice Sunnydaze dress, not so cheap. Toys on the other hand can be anything and will range within the same prices. You can buy your child whatever you wish to, toy, books, ect and Unjust will quote you a price since we do not have any ready made items at the moment.

Nanny services.

Do you want a more personal upbringing for your Orphan but you do not have the time to do so yourself? Well, you can hire + Within + to be your Orphan's nanny, on a weekly cost of 1k. + Within + will personally update your journal, interact with your Orphan and make him or her as happy as possible, though cost of items are still the parent's responsibility. For a permanent Nanny, it will be 10k Orphan. You may get an occassional message from + Within + for the needs of your child, doctor visits and items that your Orphan may need.

Private School

It's not a cruel thing to send your child off to private school, but it can be expensive. Orphans that are sent to private school will be garbed in school uniforms as part of the price. Toys are not included in this price of 20k child. You will receive letters from your child while he or she is away and you will be able to read up on their progress in school and see if they've made any friends.

The Damned

Roleplay

While roleplay is not manditory we do encourage it. Roleplaying with your Orphan will mold them into the adult they will one day become while purchasing the services of others to tend to your Orphan will ultimately leave the way that your child will turn out in the hands of others. There is roleplaying allowed within personal Journals that will be set up for each Orphan as well as a roleplay area for parents to gather together with their Orphan's to make new friends that may even last lifetimes.
