Welcome to the Amentes Sunt Amantes (AsA) home for celestial companions. For years we have been connecting beings with cosmic children and pets from our beautiful facilities on the Earth's only satellite: the Moon. Our Facilities have never before been seen until now. Our kennels and housing are built on the far side of the moon. Even telescopes couldn't find us! Now we bring our services to the people of Gaia! Below you will find information on the three companions we specialize in.

Our service is like three very different pet shops in one. For those of you that like light role-play, try our Star Children. For those that like a more intense role-play and will strive to help your pet grow strong try our Lunar Hounds. And for those that just like a pretty little thing to follow them around and to cuddle on occasion, try our Cosmic Beasts, or all three!

4.03.2005 - Make sure to check out the job hiring thread. We're looking for another manager! here.

2.16.05 - Alrighty, so after a too-long hiatus we're having a sale once again. WW's itnernet pooped out for a while and then our servers pooped out. That's the reason for the dead images. So I REALLY hope you have your adult saved somewhere because we aren't sure, if when it comes back up, all our files will still be there.

So to make up for the past couple weeks of salelessnes we're having a BIG sale this week, as well as an auction. The raffle will be for 4 children from the Draco Constellation, and 4 Pups from Saturn's moons. The auction is for a custom! So keep an eye out for the opening of the auction! I'll start taking names for the sale now though. The drawing will probably be either Sunday or Monday.
01.19.05 - Battle system is finally figured out and explained HERE!. We hope this will make owning AsA (hounds particularly) or interesting. Now all we need is another pack!
01.15.05 - To make our lives just a tad bit easier I made a Winner's Circle on the first page of the winners in the last flaffle, along with their choice, name and weather they've been tagged or not yet. I hope this will let you guys know the status of your pet and help us to get them out and organized more faster.
Remember: If you haven't paid by the next raffle we'll raffle of the child you chose!
-Rules are (finally) up and breeding info is now up! I hope it all makes sense. Tho... there's not any spots available. ninja
01.07.05 - Yay for growings and puppies!! We'll start taking names for the next raffle on Monday.
01.02.05 - Happy New Year! We'll start this year off with a belated Lunar Hound raffle. We know, it was 'sposed to be last week, but due to circumstances and holidays we had to postpone it. Don't worry though, we'll make up for it with a biiiig raffle!
12.20.04 - OMG! Apparently there was something in the air that caused EVERY Lunar Hound to grow at EXACTLY the same time. Freakyness. We'll work to correct this in the future. ((A.k.a. We finally got the complete lineart for the next stage and Sarabi spent all night coloring them and tagging them without stopping so they all grew at the same time. The ones that are RP'd will probably do that again once we get the next ser of lineart for them.))
12.13.04 - Another week, another raffle. We start taking names for the Cosmic Beast raffle today. Soooo sign up!

11.28.04 - Our first Third Quarter CUSTOM Auction starts tomorrow! Be sure to keep on the lookout for that. And more growings happened overnight! Check out the byooootiful Star Children. Also, Symon, the second gaurdian of our north star, has arrived. Flock of seagulls WHA?
11.22.04 - New sale starts taking names tonight. So start request. Make sure to pay attention to the new rule. I'm sure they'll be added to afew times during the next few sales until we finally get something worked out that both we, and you, the customers are happy with. So make sure you give us your opinions on how you think we are doing with the sales. Havign sales so frequently we're trying to make sure they are as fair as possible. We're here to make you guys happy!
11.12.04 - Sale Schedual is up. So are two link banners. To those that wanted to affiliate with us, please post a link to your shop in your request. You can just post that in the thread. Raffle tonight!!
-Took out the story section to put in an owners list. I kinda already included the story above and the individual stories for every pet in their section.

Flaffle Buddy System:
If a person who has bought tickets for the current raffle brings in a friend, who then buys tickets, then the original buddy gets an additional 2 free tickets. We are attempting this to try and bring some new blood into the shop. Our current owners are great but we'd LOVE to see some new names on the Flaffle list.

Also, when you tell your friend to come buy tickets for the raffle, be sure to tell them you sent them... or else we won't be able to give you your tickets.

If we find out that this new system is being abused then we WILL blacklist all the involved parties for an indefinate length of time. So don't do it!

A Bedtime Story

Once there was a great astronomer named Ween. He was said to be the greatest astronomer who ever lived, and never died, for he was immortal. Ween spent many life times looking into the sky, but soon he had seen every star from the distance of Earth. So he spent many life times constructing the perfect telescope, one that would allow him to see the stars close up. Finally, he completed his masterpiece on a clear spring day when the sun shone bright. Anxious to see if his telescope worked he looked into the eye piece to look closely at the daytime sky. What he saw puzzled him: the sky, nothing like what former scientists had written about, but a crystal blue lagoon, wave shimmering and rolling silently onto white beaches. This went against everything that Ween knew, but he had seen it with his own eyes. He couldn�t wait until nightfall to study the stars.

What he saw that night is something only legends and myths and fairytales can accept as truth. Upon that now dark lagoon walked children, moving slowly across the waves. They held in their hands staffs, and at the end of those staffs a lantern hung with a bright light shining in each one of them. Ween recognized the formation the children he was looking at were in, Ursa Minor, at the end of which a child carried the North Star, Polaris. She stood still as all the other children slowly walked around her.

Ween never told his colleagues of his discovery and soon destroyed his masterpiece telescope. He knew his world would never accept this, but here at AsA we not only accept Ween�s findings but we know them to be true! But wondering through the heavens is a lonely job so at AsA we�ve taken it upon ourselves to find these children loving parents. Sure they�ll still have to carry their star around, but once they set they�re free to go home and love you all day long (or on a cloudy night when there�s no need to report for duty.)

When you first receive your Star Child they will look like a baby and will not be strong enough to carry their staff, but their lantern will still sit beside them.

No, they do not have an adult stage, which is why they are called Star Children. They may grow and mature mentally but will always look this way. Tho there is rumors of elders, though, those that have been seen are described as youthful. No information is gathered on this yet.
Star Children come in constellations by their stars. The stars have names but it�s up to you to name the child. Constellations are pretty much families and the star children within one share a special bond. But even though they are families, children from the same constellation may point.

What is pointing? Pointing is� sort of like breeding, but very very not. When two children form a loving bond they may decide to point. When they do a line will be drawn, connecting the two stars in the sky, and where that line meets a 3rd star a new Star Child will be born. Sometimes the 3rd star will not have a name (or if it does it�ll be something boring like Beta Scorpius or something) and your children will have the opportunity to name the star and the child!

Story

Information classified.

We here at the AsA facilites aren't 100% sure where these beautiful, loving creatures come from. Once a month a bundle of them are dropped off at our location and we have no clue by whom! But one thing we know about these creatures are they're cute and make wonderful companions.

Dralaxy:

So far we're only given the male (yes, that is a MALE) Nebuni and a female Dralaxy. We are unsure if we'll be getting their opposing gender in the future. We're also unsure of how they breed. Hopefully our mysterious benifactor will be able to give us more information in the future.

Another thing we are aware of is that these creatures come in specific natural forces. The forces also determine the clan that the beast is put into. Here is our current listing of what we know:

Light- The most common force. By light we don't mean fluffy angels either. It includes all colors and the more rare types of light like infared and ultraviolet.

Earth- Uncommon. Everything that grows and even things that don't. If it can be included as part of the earth then a Cosmic Beast can carry characteristics of it. These beasts are very in-tune with nature and seem very mild in their attitudes. This force includes plants, dirt, rocks and also there is rumor of Cosmic Beasts that look like certain mammels that are also classified as earth force.

Fire- Uncommon. Anything burning or hot. The beasts we've seen with the fire traits tend to be a little on the... charismatic side. They are quick to speak up and are sometimes a little loud. Please take caution with a fire beast, as angering it could cause harm to more... flamable beings. This includes flame, heat, sun, lava and even reptilian looking beasts.

Water- Uncommon. Of course, the wet force. These beasts are very easy going and will agree to almost anything as long as it's easy to perform. Some of these beasts have even been concietered lazy, though others a little more forceful. Traits include those of the ocean, rain, ice and yes, fish.

Air- Rare. A little more forceful force. Though the thought of air may seem like it'd make a nice beast, the embodiment of thise force can present some dangers. This force includes wind, tornado, thunder and birds.

Other- Rare. The other forces are grouped into this. Some are man-made, some are anything but, but they don't really fit into anything else. This includes gravity, metal, magnetic, dream, nightmare, fusion, fission and more.

Of course, we suspect that some kind of breeding or reproduction can take place. We'll let you know when we figure out how this is possible.

Sales here at AsA will try to adhear to a schedule.Sales here at AsA will try to adhere to a schedule. We set this up simply because it is harder to obtain some of the companions we offer at certain times in a moon cycle. On a night with a new moon Lunar Hounds don't tend to come out. On the night of a full moon Star Children feel over-powered by the light and may not want to come down. So to accommodate them we set up a schedule based on the cycle of the moon.

The week of a 3rd Quarter moon is kind of... up for grabs. This week we may hold a regular sale for a random AsA, an auction for a custom or we may just take this week to rest or catch up.

Auctions for custom pets may be held during a 3rd Quarter moon. If you win the auction you not only get to choose what your AsA is, but also what it looks like and where it comes from, as long as it follows these simple rules.

1. Cosmic Beasts are the only pets that may cosplay.
2. You may not request new line-art besides hair.
3. For Star Children you may not pick a star that is already in use, but you may pick one from any constellation. If you need help choosing a star WW can help.
4. If you pick a constellation that is currently not in use don't be surprised to see the rest of those stars in an upcoming sale. Tho you may end up a lone-star.
5. Lunar Hounds must come from either a planet, a planet's moon, earth or Gaia. You can't join a user-created pack through auction.
6. Any accessories, hair-styles or clothing line-art may be used and resold. If you really really don�t want it to please tell us.

Please choose the correct order form only AFTER you are declared the winner of an auction. PM it to Luna.

1. I don't think this really needs to be said but: Don't steal artwork from this shop!
2. If you are "inspired" by this shop to make a shop of your own and would like to us 1 or my aspects of this shop in your own we request that you ask us first and at least link to us in your shop. It's rare that we'll say no (unless it's like... coping our shop entirely) but we'd just like to know about it before we find out about it on our own.
3. Be courteous to others in this thread and in the guild. We like to keep a happy atmosphere and any drama will be laughed at and told to take it elsewhere.
4. Role-playing is encouraged but not required. Role-playing may also be rewarded, but not necessarily. You may role-play in the shop or in the guild, or any other way you feel comfortable with (pm, im ect). If role-playing through pm or ims we'd like for you to post the transcripts in your villa... only because we can't reward you for something we don't see.
5. Don't bother the shop owners. We may be slow at times, but we have real lives too. If need be you may send us a simple reminder (if it's been more than a week to get something done) through pm, but always be nice about it. Bothering us only makes us NOT want to get it done.
6. Co-owning is not allowed. I've had drama and problems with this in the past and won't allow it in this shop. During auctions two people may put their bids together but there will only be ONE owner.
7. We are not obligated to pm you about winning a raffle or that your tag is done. It is your responcibilty to check back in at the shop. Raffles are always held on Fridays, so if you enter one you can check back Sat... most people in the thread will be able to tell you if you won or not. Though, if you need help finding the url to your tag we will be glad to help you.
8. For any questions please pm [Luna]. Not WW or Sarabi.
9. Send ALL trades to [Luna]. Any sent to WW or Sarabi will either be canceled or accepted as a donation. xp
10. Please complete trades in a timely manner. If a trade sits un-confirmed too long you may find yourself on the greylist (not able to participate in flaffles). If a trade is ever canceled for the reason of tricking us you WILL find yourself on the blacklist (not ever able to own an AsA and bad news will spread about you.)
11. If you cannot pay for an AsA that you won in a flaffle it will be entered into the next flaffle.
12. NEW! During a flaffle ONLY the winner picked can choose what AsA they want, and no one can choose for them. If they're not present at the time it's too bad for them.

A: With the Cosmic Beasts- as many as you want. With the Star Children- up to 3. With the Lunar Hounds- only 1. These figures may change as we see fit.

Q: May we co-own/ May two people own one AsA?
A: No, unless we specifically say you may.

Q: Do I have to RP my AsA?
A: No, we won't force you to. RP is encouraged and may even result in rewards but we're not going to take them away if you never visit the thread ever again. Though, in the case of the hounds, they will not reach their adult stage without RP.

Q: What does Amentes sunt Amantes mean?
A: It's latin. Look it up, then switch it around and you'll understand.

Q: I want a Star Child from the constellation insert zodiac here, but that's not for a long time! Oh nos!
A: The zodiac goes by the sun, but at AsA we move with the moon, so the zodiac constellations won't fall on the same dates. I'll try to go with the constellation the moon is in on the sale date, but I may pick others and ones the moon doesn't even touch. So, we'll see

Q: How do you know where the moon is in the sky? Where do you get your information?
A: (WW) I have a wonderful program called Starry Night: Backyard that I got through my astronomy textbook. A lot of the aspects of the AsA pets come from my Astronomy class.

Breeding is available for all AsA, but each have a catch-
Lunar Hounds- Must be adults to breed. Must also show attraction/partnership in RP.
Star Children- Must have reached child stage. Must show attraction/partnership and RP a pointing "ritual". The nature of this ritual is up to you.
Cosmic Beasts- Must have reached youth stage. Must come up with a logical medium between the two elements or obtain a catalyst item.
For example- A beast who's color is marked as rain wishes to mate with another who's color is marked as breeze. The two would make a compatable pair that result with a baby who would be hurricane.
But say a beast is of the light element and has a color of green, but wants to mate with a beast who is the element fire with a color of blaze. They require a catalyst to change either the "green" to an element like forest to make a wildfire baby, or change the blaze to orange to make a green and orange baby.
Likewise, a beast with a natural color like elephant (or some other animal) will need a catalyst to change their color to that animal's enviroment.
As for a natural colored beast and a light colored, no catalyst is needed. The offspring will just be a ed [animal].
Catalyst items may be obtained through the shop by asking and have no extra charge- but serious changes may occure to your beast! Only beasts that are on the waiting list for breeding may acquire a catalyst item.

Anyone is free to join the guild, but if you do not own an AsA you may not own a villa. Those with AsA may own a villa (journal). Please ask [Luna], Sarabi or WhiteWallaby if you'd like one (only pm [Luna] though, but you can ask Adee and WW if you see them in the thread).
Detailed RPs may also go there. Later you will also be able to create a pack for your Lunar Hounds and compete with other packs for prizes and powers.
