Welcome to Gaia! ::

There's always Radio Comix:

They are an independatn comic company. I know a few years ago they were really encouraging of people sending in work to be published. THey do a lot of furry, but lately it looks like they have expanded into anime.manga style comics as well.
Cool, thank you very much. Rather resourceful.
My company is a small manga publisher with an upcoming spring book. We're still looking for talented aspiring mangaka to round it off. This is ideal for those who are looking to break into the industry!

thank you for putting this together. heart I don't think I will put anything together worth publishing until college though, sweatdrop and I might even try my hand at self publishing or putting together a magazine for manga ka to be published.

I still recommend checking the phonebook for local printing companies.

Some people (namely me sweatdrop ) don't have a car/the ability to drive (and I'm 19... =x=; wink
I guess I'm lucky to live in a city with public transportation;;
that was very helpful thanks
Dark Horse also publishes Asian styles. At least I think so, since they published Hellsing and Ghost in the Shell, along with a vew others I believe.
Dark Horse manga is expensive though. sweatdrop

I think so, too. Though TokyoPop isn't any better. The paper sucks, the translations are s**t (or so I've heard)..... It pisses me off, because you can get the untranslated manga for $4-6 bucks. But considering not everyone can read Japanese.... *glowers*
*is learning japanese just so I can read untranslated manga*
someone gave me a disk.^^

I don't know TokyoPop's translators because I haven't read any japanese manga not scanslated. The translators need to get paid something for their work, after all, TokyoPop is just doing what's marketable for western audiences.
much obliged
Here is another one for your list:
