<center>Welcome to the Streets of Gold Charity!</center>

Hi, and welcome! I'm flautist. I just finished a quest for fairy wings, which was my last real desire for items on gaia. So, I have decided to start a charity to help others reach their goals. smile Please, read all of the first page, and then kick back and have fun. smile

NOTICE: I have started a quest, so if you donate, make sure you tell me whether it is for my quest or the charity. If you send it to this account (flautist) and don't specify, I will assume it is for my quest. If you send it to my mule (Streets_of_Gold) and do not specify, I will assume it is for the charity.

I am currently looking for people to help out with the charity. Positions that need filled are bumpers and donators. Please read the descriptions of the positions below, and the rules for the charity before asking if you can help with any of these positions. Also, a reminder that all of these are voluntary. I will not be paying you to do these things, however, if you are on a quest, I will help out from time to time. smile Also, post your application in the thread: Please do NOT PM me.

Bumpers: pretty self-explanatory. smile Just chat, hang out, and keep the thread at the top. I'm limiting the "official" title to five people for now, but I might add more later. Obviously, anyone can help bump, but these are the people who will be here on a regular basis. smile

Donators: These people will be my "right-hand men." These are the ones that need to know the rules as well as I do, and keep in contact with me to let me know who they have donated to, and what. I want to put a minimum gold count of 5K on this position. In other words, don't apply if you currenly have less than 5K. For the moment, I am only looking for one or two, however, if anyone else wants to help out, they can donate to me or my donators.

User Image flautist: That's me! I am the owner and founder of this charity. biggrin

User Image Streets_of_Gold: He is my mule, and he is the one who the trades will usually be coming from. He is also the one you should send your donations to, so that I can keep them seperate from my things.

User Image Toven: He is a donator. You might see some trades coming from him instead of me.

User Image Dea and #Teddy#: She is the official Streets of Gold Security Guard. She makes sure you are all reading the rules, and then recommends people for me to donate to. Basically, she makes my job much easier, because I can concentrate on earning gold to keep the charity running instead of reading each and every post. xd

1)No Begging!!! I can't stress this enough. Asking politely and intelligently is fine, but I don't want to see "PLZ GIV ME TEH GOLDZ!!!!111!!!!!!! scream crying gonk scream crying crying crying " That is incredibly annoying, and will get you on the blacklist, which means you will never recieve a donation here.

2)No PM's asking for donations! Those are just as annoying as begging, and will have the same consequence.

3)You must have a quest thread. I won't put a minimum on the amount of pages it must have, but I do want to see a well organized thread that it's obvious you've spent some time on. I will say, however, that it must have been up for at least 24 hours. I don't want to see threads created for the soul purpose of getting a donation here. Also, I'm getting tired of people "questing" for things that are only worth 1-2K. So, I am going to put a limit on the quests. I will not donate to any quests less than 5K.

4)I will not donate to quests for gold, or for you to get an item for a friend.

5)Do not post your paragraph in neon and/or bright or light colors, such as teal, yellow, orange, etc., and don't make the font any smaller than the default. I have eye problems, and I will not strain my eyes to read your request. Don't get me wrong, colors are fine, as long as they are easy to read. Try to stick with purples, blues, and dark greens, though, those are the easiest. smile

6)When you ask for gold, I want to see a well-written, polite, short paragraph, which includes a link to your quest thread. I won't make you jump through hoops in vain, I promise that I will not give less than 500 gold to people who follow this rule and give my little fish a get well wish. If that is not included, you will not recieve a donation. And yes, this phrase will change periodically.

7)Kick back, relax, and have fun. smile

Rules for Anyone Visiting the Thread

1) No violent / offensive role play. This includes vampire role play, slave role play, and rape or molestation. Yes, simply saying things such as *molests you* fall into this category. I or my security guards will give ONE warning, putting you on the graylist, and after that, you will go on the blacklist. If you are not role playing one of the things listed above, it will just be a judgement call. If it offends me or someone else, I will give a warning.

Rules for Being an Employee of the Charity

1) You must have at least 1000 posts. I know that's a lot, but this way I know you are an active member on gaia and therefore will be here to help out.

2) You must have been a member of gaia for at least 2 months. That way, there's less chance that all those 1000 posts are just "bump."

3) Let me know where your favorite hangout on gaia is and why. That way, again, I know you actively participate.

4) Let me know how you want to help. smile

Guys, I'm sorry to say this, but I think I'm going to leave for a while. Not forever, but it will be longer than just a hiatus. I am so sick of all the mean and rude people here. I thought i was going to come back from my hiatus today, and the first thing I come across is someone insulting abused/battered women, and saying HORRIBLE things. I'm tired of it, and I just can't handle it anymore. I let off on him pretty good, so good that I'm afraid I might get a short ban for it, but I don't care. I'll still be around playing for items doing the fishing games and stuff like that, so if you want to keep in contact, you can PM me, but as far as posting, I will be gone. Yes, that means that the Streets of Gold is closed for now. I'm very sorry. Toven, if you and the other members would like to keep the SoG, that's fine, but you will need to start your own thread, since you can't edit this one.

Anyways, I'm very sorry... *hugs*

Okay, so I've decided this was a bad time to start a charity. I tried to give the gold I had saved up for the charity to my mule account, and it's gone. All 20K. Don't worry, I have plenty to keep the charity up and running, but I will say this: If you really want to risk trying the bank, that's fine. But, I am only trying once. If the bank eats it, I will NOT try it again. I don't want to lose the rest of the gold I have. Hopefully, it's just REALLY bad lag and will show up tomorrow, or it will eventually be restored, but I don't forsee this happening. So, until the bank problems are fixed or I get my gold, the donations will be coming from my main account (flautist) but I still ask that if you donate to the charity, you donate it to my mule (Streets_of_Gold).

UPDATE

I got the gold back!!!! THere were some instructions on how to bypass the bank if you knew the trade ID number, so I did it, and it worked. So, the trades will be back to normal now, ie, they will be coming from Streets_of_Gold. The same warning applies, however, that if you want to try the bank, that's fine, but if by chance the gold is lost, I will not try it again. However, now I know the process by which to get it back if it doesn't show up, so it's a little safer.

PROBLEM SOLVED

Well, everyone, it looks like the bank has been fixed. So, trading can resume as normal. I'm glad everyone has gotten their donations so far. For the next couple of days, I will still be saving the links to all trades, so that if there are problems with the bank again, we can still complete the trade.

samuria: PMed me asking to be an employee... obviously did not read the rules, so I told him no. Then he came to the thread, and repeated what he said on the PM and then asked for help with his quest, still very obviously having not read any of the rules.

I am sorry if you didn't want a post now, I read what you said in the rules and I was somewhat confused where and when to post. Anyway I am on my quest to be a Pimp, Raspberries are yummy! http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3853294&highlight= I am not doing that well, one bumper and no donaters yet, but anyway that is my quest I am on and I would hope you will choose me to donate, Thanks again.
