so i noticed xd i've read a few of the xanth series. not bad. i'm just not much of a fantasy fan... i realllllly like demons don't dream. very interesting plot! and i loved the characters. whee heart
Demon's Don't Dream is probably my favorite of the Xanth books I've read so far. I love the way he brought new characters into Xanth, though it bugged me when I lost them in the next book >.< I'm currently reading Geis of the Gargoyle, which hasn't caught up with those characters either, but it's a good one too ^-^

i really enjoyed the first book of the series as well... i don't want to say too much about the last few chapters and spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it yet >.> but i was very suprised at the ending... about Bink's magic power... ninja you know.... i wasn't expecting that.
Actually, I never read the first book. I started with Man from Mundania (sp? sweatdrop ) and have been reading from there. Though I know what you are talking about because when I read Question Quest I got a huge Xanth history lesson. I plan to read all the books to the end/what is written so far and then go back and read all the older Xanth books that I haven't read. It's a huge series. eek Probably should have started at the begining but a friend wanted me to read Man from Mundania so I started there, got hooked and yeah ^-^

haha blaugh well... the only reason i started with the first one was because at the time it was the only one that was out. i skipped around from there... some didn't seem that interesting to me sweatdrop one day i wouldn't mind reading the whole series... but, with all the books on my waiting list.... it might be a while. gonk esp. because the book i'm reading now is holding me back big time. it's number 2 in a (sort of kind of) series o.O; (it's hard to explain), so i can't skip it.... but it's not as good as part one and part 4 (i accidently read part 4 sweatdrop ). so... it's going slowly....
Yeah, I hate it when you get to a book that you want to read/have to read and it's not as good as you hoped. I wasn't too impressed with The Color of Her Panties when I read it, but it did set some things in order that I would need to know for the rest of the series. That and Question Quest was boring because it was mostly history of what happened in Xanth but I learned alot.

What are you reading now?

exactly! you want to skip it, but you can't because you learn things about characters or past events, ect.

i'm stuck on reliquary by preston and child. it's the sequel to relic which was a great book.... and i read the first chapter of the 3rd book, the cabinet of curiosities and it was REALLY exciting. gonk i shouldn't have even looked at that book untill i got done with reliquary. *sigh* reliquary is about 450 pages... which is normally no problem.... but i have had such a hard time just getting to 180 pages. confused agh it's driving me nuts. >.<

i'm surprised that other xanth fans haven't posted by now... normally peirs anthony topics get a lot of replies. 3nodding
Well, just keep thinking about what you get to read after your done with the book you're on ^-^ Maybe you'll get there faster.

It's good to know there are more Piers Anthony fans out there. I'm glad I found my way to this sub forum, even if it is with my mule ninja xd

i know, i keep trying to tell myself that blaugh

i like this forum a lot also, just... sometimes it sucks when you mention a book and nobody else has read it or heard of it. o.O;
Yeah. I love Lois Lowry books but no one has really heard of any of them except the Giver. I've read all of the books I can find in this small down of hers except the Anastasia Kapurnik(Can't spell O-o; ) series but that's more child oriented.

*nods* i feel your pain. there is a book called Still Life with Crows... i LOVE it so much. and i want to discuss it with someone...anyone... but apparently i'm the only person who has read it because nobody seems to ever know about it. and that's counting real life and the book forum. gonk
What kind of book is it? I just finished Homebody by Orson Scott Card so yeah, I'm looking for another book to read. If it sounds interesting I'll read it. Also might be a good thing if I knew the author ^-^

heh... it's by the same people i was talking about earlier douglas preston and lincoln child. here's what the back of the book says:

a small kansas town is turned into a killing ground.

is it a serial killer, a man with the need to destroy?

or is it a darker force, a curse upon the land?

amid golden cornfields, fbi special agent pendergast discovers evil in the blood of america's heartland.

eek oooooo...

when i bought it, i didn't think it was going to be anything great. i just got it because i needed something to read on the plane ride... but, i was instantly hooked and couldn't put it down. i'm glad i was wrong about it.
I'll look into it. It sounds like a horror, which I'm not much into, and sort of like a mystery, which I don't normally like either, but then again I dont' know what catagory Homebody fits into and I absolutely adored that book. Hopefully I can find it so that you have someone to disscuss it with. xd
