This is Safaia's Drawer, where she may keep items and document the progress of her kirin-spirit, Harmony. ONLY her to post, unless she allows otherwise!

West of Sunrise

Events

This morning you can carefully placed your parchment in the light of the sunrise, smiling to yourself as the glow rose about the symbol. But as you turned away, you stopped. Was the glow continuing to increase? Transfixed by the sight, you can only watch as the symbol grows brighter and brighter, until the strong grey ink almost seems to leave the paper and float up the sunbeams. As it reaches the window and is outlined by the sunlight, it suddenly flares into incandescense. You shield your eyes from the brightness; when your sight finally clears, you gasp. Balancing shakily on the windowsill is a small, kirin-like spirit creature, about the size of a lapdog. It turns its trusting eyes towards you, and you realise with a jolt that you have done it; through your care and attention the spirit has left its long years of imprisonment. The kirin-spirit blinks, and then jumps awkwardly of the windowsill to the floor.
"Harmony?" She asks in her light, childlike voice. And you can say nothing, but beam and nod.

Harmony's first pets. Two little Red Caps. I find them so cute, and I'm sure Harmony will love them. ^^ They just love to swim around and eat when I feed them, and they always seem happy.

A strange shoppe found it's way infront of Safaia. Intrigued by in, she slowly entered. It was musty, and smelled of old, antique, stale air. After coughing and batting away moths with the occasional spider, she saw that the shop was in business. Safaia just happened to enter in the wrong door. The shoppe's owner, Kel, welcomed her in. After looking around for a while, Safaia discovered parchments of paper that had strange symbols on them. They seemed to glow, with interested Saf. Kel told her about the kirin-spirits sealed inside them, about how they could emerge and what their symbols meant. Even more intrigued by them, Saf gladly purchased one, with the symbols for Harmony lighty printed on the parchment. Kel motioned her into a small room that showed her a tiny, closet sized room where the parchment could be held, wich also contained a window facing the east. From where the sun rose in the morning. After Kel gave her brief but important instructions, she left Saf to her new charge of life. A small writing desk was near the window, with one drawer in it. Saf sat on the tiny, creaking bed and slowly opened the cramped drawer, discovereing a small journal with writing utinsels in it. With excitement clearly viewed in her movements, Safaia pulls out a small journal from the drawer. She turns to the front page, crisp from non-use and clean as could be. She flattens the page a bit, pulls out an ink pen, and slowly, carefully writes her thoughts down.

September 4th, 2004

Today has been an exciting day. After wandering into the West of Sunrise shoppe, I was able to acquire a scroll that held a kirin-spirit, Harmony. Just thinking about the ability to have the chance to help one of these creatuers grow and mature is exciting. ^^
I can't wait until she emerges. I've already bought some little fish for her that I hope she likes. Maybe on her first real day I'll get her a stuffed animal that she can sleep with. Kids need their sleep!
Enough with my rambling for today. I'm just too excited. heart

September 8th, 2004 ~ Morning

I awoke this morning to a strange sound coming from the desk. I shifted in my sleep, tired from the previous day of chaos and nerves. Tukutu slept likea rock, as always, and Spirit was out who knows where. Hearing more noise, I covered myself under the blankets, annoyed at whatever bird was tapping at the window. It continues. Reluctantly, and sleepily, I sat up and glances over at the desk. There was a small something....Harmony! She'd finally emerged from her parchment! Excitedly, I jumped out of bed, kicked Tukutu awake, and slowly made my was towards her. Poor thing was frightened to death. Took much coaxing and cooing, but I was able to bring her closer to me. I'm off to find some food for her while Tukutu watches her. I trust him....I hope.

September 13th, 2004 ~ Afternoon

Sorry that I haven't written anything lately. School has been crazy, and I mainly just come home, tend to my loves, and crash in bed. Harmony has been doing great. I think she's lonely though, because here sibilings are so much older than her. It concerns me that she hardly makes a sound at all. She only chirrups when it's dinner time. Tukutu has been a lazy bum like he is, and Spirit has been out and about, not doing much with Harmony. I think I need to bring in Gypsy and Momo. I'm pretty sure that Harmony shall like them and their company. A couple days ago I went out and bought a cd full of music mixed with water sounds. Harmony sleeps to it, and I really think she loves it, which makes me so happy.
Sounds like she's hungry again, so I shall write later.
