Hello everyone,

Finally, after months of hard work we've released the new site layout. There are a lot more features and changes to come, but first it'll be very important for us to gain feedback and comments from everyone.

We'd like to know your comments for the following:

- Do you like the new header? Any suggestions for what we can add to it?
- How do you like the header backgrounds? Which ones are your favorites?
- How do you like the map system? Any suggestions to make it better?
- How do you like the new color scheme?
- Do you like the new landing pages?

We appreciate any impressions or suggestions. We'll collect more opinion about the new logo also after some discussions within the team.

The new layout is very professional. I like it.

I especially like the way the header is organized. It allows you to put more information on it, while it still looks good.

Love it, but a small dark bar at the top would be nice. Also, it'd be nice if it fit widescreen resolutions better.

They're beautiful. biggrin I think I like Durem's best, but the field one is nice too.

- How do you like the map system? Any suggestions to make it better?

- How do you like the new color scheme?
It's very nice, but I bet it'll look better when the whole site is that way.

- Do you like the new landing pages?
Yes, but they don't look very good on widescreen. D: Please center them!

- Do you like the new header? Any suggestions for what we can add to it? The new header is fine. But the logo in the big dark brown box is sort of bothersome. The logo itself is plain compared to the rest of the layout and all of the other logos we've had. Can't we add a little more character to it? I thought you said that the logo was supposed to reflect us as a community. Are we really that boring to you, Lanzer?

Yes, I'll agree it's sleek and modern. .. But where's the character? Where's the individualism? Or are we just a plain font to you?


- How do you like the header backgrounds? Which ones are your favorites? Eh. I don't really like or dislike the header backgrounds. They're very bland and maybe a little TOO muted. The beach one is just sort of like a blob of brown, so it's a little disappointing. The sizes of the backgrounds themselves are nice, though.


- How do you like the map system? Any suggestions to make it better? The map is okay as far as I can tell. I have no clue how we could really optimize it. I mean.. It's a map, man.

- How do you like the new color scheme? I actually like the darker colors on a whole, it's a little less blinding than the masses of white. As I said, though, it's just that the background pictures that kind of ruin it. They could have a LITTLE more color and not overpower the rest of the layout.

- Do you like the new landing pages? Not in the least. The way the picture bubbles are organized is sloppy and the boxes themselves are far too big. Have you honestly looked at the MC page? Those are HUGE and really just far too clunky to look nice.

And most importantly, there's a severe lack of males. All I see on the homepage is females.



Overall, though, it's a change for the better. It's just the details that lack in this redesign.

They're brilliant
Makes Gaia more like a lil world than just a website. <3
I like how things are organized, too.
The landing pages are nice. Much better than the last layout.

My only suggestion at this point is to make the butterflies in the main header
more... butterfly-ish. I thought they were trash blowing in the wind. XD

My favorite header is the one for Bass'ken lake.

I too wish new PMs were more noticable :3

Edit: HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THIS BEFORE.
I dunno why, but the default-ness of the links for PMs, Logout, and Gaia cash bother me.

actually maybe a few random npc encounters :B
and make quest use the main headers for now on it would really make me feel like I'm in the gaian world

The map system is great brings back the old gaia feel, what you could do to make it better, perhapes tell you where on the map you are, like in the forums put a red square around the forums building

I love the colors very neat :] purple colors are very good reminds me of durem rofl

indeed, I would like forums to be changed though it clashes
also it might be a neat idea to add what we want to certain pages sort of like channels was, but on the main pages ninja just an idea

You mentioned the new layout at the Otakon panel a few weeks ago and I've been excited to see it. I must say it is very chic looking. I really like it. A+ surprised heart

I'm still getting used to it, but I like it. I liked the old logo better, but that's just personal taste...and this one DOES match everything else better.

I'm currently stuck at bass'ken lake. I'll get back to you on that when I SEE the others. Bass'ken looks apropriately lake-ish though. It is, however, definitely very un-anime, which I thought was supposed to be a basis for the style of the site, so I miss that aspect of the art.

So far, I'm liking that alot. It's still slow for me, but I'm just assuming that's "new-ness".

It gives the site a very different feel...I think I'm neutral to it, really.

Mostly. This is where my two main issues so far come up though:
1)It'd be nice if the buttons highighted to tell you where you are - that would make it easier to navigate.
2)The ads being so large and central is extremly annoying. Those are the things I LEAST want to see, and right now they're one of the most prominent things on the page. If they can be pushed back into the margins, that would be great!

Overall, I like the site redesign - it's an improvement over the last in many ways!

-- I do like the new header, a lot actually. :3 It's very friendly looking and isn't in your face either, which is one thing I was afraid of when it was first announced in your journal.

yes! ^^ The only ones I've seen so far are of a beach, the one where the avvie is standing/sitting on a door step, and the lake one. I really like them all, I can't choose a favorite. XD

A suggestion that i can see being reasonable in some ways is to possibly make it change with the seasons? Gaia seasons seem pretty stable, enough so that it'd be fair to change the banner when winter came around and snow covers the barton forest. :3

also, will they change with events? Like if we were to have vampires, would the header reflect that somehow? It'd be really awesome if it could, and it'd bring back an older feel that a lot of users really really love. heart

I haven't seen it fully, since I forgot about it a little. I do like the mini map in the corner, and I'm eager to see what else is in store :3 Can't think of any suggestions for it.

I love the dark purple, very much so. ^_^ It would be nicer to have it a bit lighter so it doesn't blend in so much at night (in GST) but otherwise it's fine and I see no problems with it. :3

yep ^^ I'm glad too, that the artists used Gaia-looking characters to display things around the site, rather than seemingly random things that don't really relate to Gaia all that much, as seen with some of the old header images and some of the other images.

One request for that, is can we have at least one boy wearing an OMG, and a girl wearing an AFK? D: I'd die to see that. <3

One request of mine that doesn't fall under anything, is I'd like to see if you could somehow make the PM notification stand out more so it's obvious when you have a PM. important PMs have already gone unnoticed since the notification is too small and hidden. :/ I dislike that, really much so. X3; If it could glow a bright color when we have a new PM, or if it could fit into a bubble on the side of our avvie, that'd be awesome. :3

edit! Also, could you possibly do something with the gold count and cash count, so it's not easy to mix up with the PMs? Unless that falls under my previous request. ^^;

    Now that I've gotten my first page post, I think I'll say something constructive now. :3

    Do you like the new header? Any suggestions for what we can add to it?     I LOVE IT. So pretty~! The drop-down menu annoys me a bit, though, since we have to wait a few seconds for it to show up, and before, I could go to a new link instantly (since I memorized where they were), but now, I have to wait for it and then figure out which one is which. It's also easier to mix them up now. I do wish we can get a choice about if we get drop-down or spread-across like before.
    How do you like the header backgrounds? Which ones are your favorites? I love the new headers. They're so pretty! And much better than the glaring white space we had before. Maybe some more colourful ones, though? My avi feels so unimportant with this new, darker background where she is. I like the ocean one, the field one is also very purdy. Actually, I love 'em all! xD The butterflies (or so you people claim them to be) are annoying, though.
    How do you like the map system? Any suggestions to make it better? A few less places in Barton? For someone who mainly hangs out in the forums, I don't exactly get all of the pretty goodness of all the headers.

    Do you like the new landing pages? This is where I'm a little iffy on things. Everything looks really crammed together now, and it's so boxy. None of that free-flowyness of before. It just looks less fun or something. And can we say Neopets for the home page? D: Bad memories, I say!

    Well, I have to say that I love this new layout overall. Very, very nice looking, and so much better than the last one. I'd like to especially praise the shortcuts (Hallelujah!). No more extra-clicking-and-waiting-a-few-minutes-for-my-invo-to-load for me when I simply want to change my outfit. :3

    Like I say, this new layout is TEH SMEX.
